3 Takeaways From Walt Disney World Releasing Their 2027 Vacation Packages – Deluxe Dining Plan, Water Park Days & More

Walt Disney World has quietly released vacation packages for 2027. Anyone is able to book their 2027 package now through the Disney website or through a travel agent. With the release of vacation packages comes news of what Disney World will be implementing next year. In this post, we’ll share our takeaways from what we know about 2027 offerings at Walt Disney World.

To be clear, there’s only so much to glean from the release of vacation packages for the next year. There aren’t any discounts offered yet (and won’t be for a few months) or any official announcements from Disney. Instead, we can just investigate for ourselves to see what’s offered in 2027.

Despite there not being any discounts, this isn’t a bad time to book if you know your plans for next year this far in advance. Availability is obviously as open as it ever will be so you can grab pretty much any hotel you want. You can add in a discount later once one is offered, assuming one will be. It’s a savvy way to make sure you get what you want, as long as you don’t mind waiting for the discount announcements.

It is also early enough to where some of the details here could change. If you lock in your package now then you don’t have to worry about that as much but, as we’re about to get to, 2027 will see some price increases. In fact, it already is showing price increases. Those could theoretically change come the typical autumn increase but I doubt we’ll see much change. Everything else that I talk about below also seems pretty locked in. Still I felt the need for a paragraph of caveat that anything below could change since 2027 is still 7+ months away. Wandering in Disney specializes in useless paragraphs!

Here are 3 takeaways from the vacation packages dropping.

Ticket Prices Will Continue to Climb

Speaking of caveats, this little headline claims a major one. Ticket prices through most of 2026 are set. Barring any unexpected increase in the next few weeks (to my recollection, we’ve never seen an increase announced during the summer), these price increases we’re looking at today are from January through October 2027. Ticket prices will almost assuredly increase for November and December 2026, as well. All signs point to the annual increase in the fall this year.

With the 2027 packages release comes the highest peak single day tickets Disney has ever offered. Those peak prices fall on March 12-13, 26-28, April 16-18, October 9, 16, 23, and 30. Note that not every single park is at peak prices during those days, but Magic Kingdom is. Here is what those peak prices are:

  • Magic Kingdom – $219
  • EPCOT – $214
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios – $209
  • Animal Kingdom – $189

Epcot hardly ever hits that peak but Magic Kingdom hits it for all of the dates listed above. These peak prices are $20 higher than they are in 2026 for Magic Kingdom and Epcot, while Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios are $10 higher year-over-year.

The good news, when looking ahead, is that the price floor has stayed the same and there are a number of those dates. Most of them fall throughout late August and September. The cheapest single day tickets are:

  • Magic Kingdom – $139
  • Epcot – $129
  • Hollywood Studios – $139
  • Animal Kingdom – $119

I will note that it’s fairly easy to find those $119 days for Animal Kingdom but much harder to find the lows for the 3 other parks. The only day that they’re all at their lows is August 31, 2027. Several dates around that timeframe offer a price within 5 or 10 dollars of that but finding $139 days at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios is not easy. That’s nothing new, as the ticket calendar is pretty consistent with 2026.

Now that we’re through some of the data, I never want to see ticket price increases but these aren’t terrible all things considered. It’s become the norm for Disney to raise the peak prices while keeping the floor the same and I think that’s a smart tradeoff. All things considered, this isn’t terrible news.

On the other hand, it’s strange that Disney keeps raising prices but then aggressively offers discounts. Attendance has dropped since the revenge travel of 2022-2024 has ended. This summer has seen Disney World offer more promotions than I’ve ever seen and that results in the lowest priced vacations since COVID. That means that guests will be able to find ticket prices lower than what I’ve listed above in 2027. It’s an interesting strategy, feeling a bit like an outlet store with percentage off signs throughout. We’ll see how much of that persists in 2027.

Deluxe Disney Dining Plan is Back

Speaking of price increases, the standard and quick-service Disney Dining Plan price for 2027 is just a tad more expensive ($99.87/night and $62.78/night) than it is in 2026. There’s an increase of a dollar or two per night, which is a lower percentage than food inflation has been in the United States. In other words, if you like the Disney Dining Plan in 2026 then you’ll like it in 2027. The prices for the plan aren’t laid out, but are easy to subtract the total from the rest of the package like you see in the screenshots below.

In bigger news, the Deluxe Disney Dining Plan is coming back in 2027. This plan had disappeared since COVID but is now back as restaurant reservations in Disney World have been down in the last year or two. We really enjoyed the Deluxe DDP before it was taken away, as there was a fun way to gain a lot of value from it with a 2 or 3 night stay. It fit a certain kind of relaxing Disney World vacation. Unfortunately, its reintroduction will not be nearly as easy to gain value from.

The new Deluxe plan includes:

  • 1 counter-service credit per night
  • 2 table-service credits per night
  • 1 snack per night
  • Refillable mug

Prior to closing, there were 3 credits per night without a counter-service designation, so you could do all table-service restaurants throughout the day. An appetizer was also included at table-service restaurants but that’s not longer the case as they now include an entree, dessert and beverage, just like the standard Table-Service Dining Plan. In other words, there are some big cuts to what value you can get here.

To go along with those cuts, the price of the deluxe has increased dramatically to $163.01 per night. Tom Bricker, Disney Tourist Blog, laid out why this is a frustrating choice from Disney and I echo his thoughts. It’s no secret that Disney World wants to make money off of the Disney Dining Plan. They wouldn’t offer it otherwise. But there has to be some value proposition for the consumer. There are ways to still find savings with this new style Deluxe DDP but it comes with an extreme amount of game planning and over indulgence. If it was one or the other then this deal might be worth exploring, sadly it is not.

Along with that, Disney will be ending the Free Dining Plan for Kids promotion that they ran for all of 2026. I mean, technically, they could still add this to 2027 bookings but it is not added with the initial release of the vacation packages.

Both of these moves are frustrating as Disney World’s dining scene has taken a hit and the DDP is less popular than ever. We hope the food doesn’t suffer and I’d think that would be top of mind for Disney World, as Epic Universe debuted with exceptional dining options. We’ll still keep using the Disney Dining Plan where we see fit (on trips when I want cocktails) but the value is getting harder to justify.

Free Water Park On Check-In Day is Back for the 2027 Summer

In better news, Disney World is continuing their free water park admission on day of check-in perk next summer. This debuted in 2025 for the entire year and has been scaled back in 2026 to only include the summer months. I’m not sure why the cutback, it could be a slight capacity issue as both water parks aren’t typically open during non-summer months. That reading of things is quite kind to Disney though. Anyway, this is a very nice perk for those visiting during the summer months as we love both Disney water parks and they aren’t especially cheap to visit otherwise.

Guests staying at a Disney Collection Resort (read: on-site) can enjoy water park admission on check-in day—included with your stay—for arrivals from May 26 to September 8, 2026. The Disney World website goes on to say this about 2027:

This benefit will also be available for Guests staying at an eligible Resort hotel in summer 2027, excluding the Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Stay tuned for more information and dates.

We’re glad to see this perk back and are hopeful that Disney keeps it going well into the future.
