Disneyland Paris Attraction Rankings

Disneyland Paris, also known as Parc Disneyland, is so beautiful that the attractions almost become secondary. In between gawking at the stunning castle or romping around Adventure Isle, guests just might find a little bit of time for the rides. Thankfully, the park has some great attractions! In this post, we’ll rank all of the attractions at Disneyland Paris. If you’re curious about other parks that we’ve written attraction rankings for, click here!

If you’re unaware, Disneyland Paris is a castle park in the same design as Disneyland or Magic Kingdom. There are a few differences but everything will feel very familiar if you’ve been to those parks. Compared to those parks, or Tokyo Disneyland, Parc Disneyland’s attraction roster is good but not great. I think it measures up to Magic Kingdom but the quantity is much lower than the other two. While absolutely gorgeous, the park doesn’t feel fully built out yet. I think that will change over time as Disney has started to invest heavily into the resort.

This post ranks 22 attractions. Sadly, we missed out on Big Thunder Mountain (and anything else Thunder Mesa related) on our first visit with it being closed. Star Tours was also closed. I decided not to add Adventure Isle because of just how big it is, similar to Tom Sawyer Island. The other substantial walk through attractions are included. Here are the rules that we follow:

  • No Meet & Greets. These are impossible to rank as each experience is unique. Also, I don’t particularly like them because I’m a guy in his 30’s.
  • No Live Shows. Nighttime shows are almost always better than rides, in my eyes. Also, big stage shows are impressive and don’t fit the profile of a typical ride. I will include 3D movies though. Basically you have to physically ride something or it has to be a show without live acting. Most playgrounds won’t be included unless they’re substantial pieces of the park.
  • These are all my opinion. Every attraction is someone’s favorite. While that is corny and seems a little silly, I think the sentiment is mostly true. I can’t account for other people’s memories in these rankings and will try (probably unsuccessfully) to take some of the nostalgia out of my views of these attractions. You’ll likely disagree with these rankings. Please let me know what you disagree with in the comments.

While I’m ranking 22 attractions, typically there’d be 25 or 26. Magic Kingdom and TDL both have 31 while Disneyland packs in an impressive 37. Disneyland Paris doesn’t quite keep up but there’s a good number here and a nice variety. The headliners are fun takes on classic attractions, the filler is interesting and the exploratory nature of the park shines through. Let’s get to the rankings!

22. Le Carrousel de Lancelot

I don’t feel great about putting a carousel last on my list but it speaks to Parc Disneyland not having a bad attraction. There’s nothing wrong with this ride, it’s regal and pretty underneath a beautiful castle. But this is still just a carousel and that’s why it finishes in last place.

21. Orbitron

I think the Orbitron, DLP’s version of the Astro Orbiter, looks fantastic at night. The colors and spinning add some beautiful kinetic energy to Discoveryland. But the ride succeeds more aesthetically than as an actual experience. Like the carousel, there’s nothing wrong with it and I had a good time but the Orbitron is just a spinner.

20. La Cabane de Robinson

Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse in Disneyland Paris blends in beautifully to the nearby Adventure Isle. It’s a fun walkthrough, although very similar to all of the other versions of the attraction. Walking all of those stairs is rewarded by some lovely views.

19. Les Mystères du Nautilus

Another walkthrough attraction, you can find the Nautilus poking up in the waters beside Hyperspace Mountain. Touring the submarine and seeing what lies in the ocean is a treat, as is the organ at the end. There’s even a short video/show played while inside. More than anything, it’s just hard for walkthroughs to compete with bigger rides.

18. Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups

I really like the look of the Tea Cups at Disneyland Paris. There’s a glass roof overhead and the colors are vibrant, up above the water below. Once on the ride this is just the iconic theme park ride that many can take or leave.

17. Autopia

Long time readers of the website might be surprised that Autopia isn’t in last place, seeing how much I despise it at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom. It’s not bad here! In fact, I kind of enjoyed myself. I also really like the lighting and different shapes of the queue. Also, the cars being electric makes a big difference. I’m just as surprised as all of you that it’s out of the bottom 5!

16. Casey Jr. – Le Petit Train du Cirque

Compared to the Disneyland Casey Jr., this version zips around like a mini version of Big Thunder Mountain! While the train chugs out the line, “I think I can, I think I can…” there’s not a doubt that this one can actually make it. The scenery is nice and tucked away from other portions of the park.

15. Disneyland Railroad

The first portion of the Disneyland Railroad is great, as they start off the ride with dinos, the Grand Canyon and goats – oh my! After that the train is a little disappointing, not offering many views into the park. Still, it’s worth a ride to see the portion between Main Street and Adventureland.

14. Dumbo the Flying Elephant

Dumbo is still Dumbo when actually on the ride. It’s a kiddie spinner ride and maybe doesn’t deserve to be this high in the rankings. But I loved the surrounding water and setting of Dumbo. Along with that, the view of the castle while on the ride is beautiful.

13. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril

One of Parc Disneyland’s thrill rides, this coaster is loosely themed to Indiana Jones. The queue is strong and then the ride is fairly disappointing. It’s a similar experience to Raging Spirits at Tokyo DisneySea, although this version is a little stronger. Even so, thrill seekers will probably want to go on this.

12. La Galerie de la Belle au Bois Dormant

We’ve got a slew of walkthrough attractions coming up, starting with the inside of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. There’s nothing that especially stands out about the experience other than it being extremely beautiful. There’s stained glass, a view of Fantasyland from above, sculptures and more. Taking the few minutes to walk through is absolutely worth it.

11. La Tanière du Dragon

We go from in the castle to below it to see the dragon’s lair. I almost didn’t include this in the rankings because this isn’t even a walkthrough, instead it’s more of a “let’s go stare at a dragon!” But I included it because this is undeniably cool and memorable. Don’t miss it!

10. Alice’s Curious Labyrinth

Every castle park should have a maze and this is a great one! The hedges are intermixed with different characters and easter eggs from Alice in Wonderland. The Cheshire Cat smiling up above or climbing through the twisty castle are highlights.

9. Les Voyages de Pinocchio

An excellent version of Pinocchio’s dark ride, this manages to creep into our top 10. While it’s essentially the same ride as all of the other versions, I thought the upkeep here was surprisingly good.

8. Le Pays des Contes de Fées

This is Disneyland Paris’ version of the Storybook Canal Boats! In the back of Fantasyland by Casey Jr., the ride benefits from a quieter and peaceful setting. The miniatures are fun to look at and the boat ride is a relaxing experience.

7. Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast

I’m a little surprised that this ended up so high on the list. There’s a lot of attractions that are solid but not spectacular at Disneyland Paris. If you’re looking for something unique then move this down below Indy. But just in terms of ranking attractions, I think this is deserving of being this high.

6. “it’s a small world”

At this point in my life, I love all versions of Small World. This one is definitely beautiful and I enjoyed seeing where all of the different characters were at. The attraction’s facade is pretty even if it could use a little sprucing up.

5. Blanche-Neige et les Sept Nains

I did not expect the Snow White dark ride to be as good as it was. There’s a scary element to the ride, with a room full of skeletons waiting for riders. That added some depth and excitement to the familiar story. All of this attraction looks really good and makes it one of the best Fantasyland options at Parc Disneyland!

4. Peter Pan’s Flight

As much as I enjoyed Snow White, the top 4 are a big step above everything else. Peter Pan’s Flight isn’t as unique as the top 3 iterations but it does look really good! The pacing of the vehicle was great and all of the glowing sets were fantastic. Sometimes the long waits make me forget about how great Peter Pan’s Flight really is.

3. Hyperspace Mountain

The Space Mountain at Disneyland Paris is way different from others around the world. That starts with the aesthetics – a steampunk design with the copper and aqua colors make the building memorable. On the ride, this version is always Star Wars themed and that’s fine but doesn’t really add much for me personally. What’s more exciting is how much of a thrill the track is. There are several inversions, an outside launch and a much faster speed than the Space Mountains I knew.

2. Pirates of the Caribbean

While nothing beats Disneyland’s Pirates for me, this comes mighty close. The differences in ride layout are interesting, with this version going up before dropping a couple of times. That adds some interesting layers to the plot! On top of that, the animatronics look fantastic and the story is one of the best ever told in a theme park.

1. Phantom Manor

I go back and forth on if I should rank Pirates or Phantom Manor first but obviously settled on Phantom Manor. This is the park’s version of Haunted Mansion and includes some significant changes to make the ride fit in better with the Frontierland setting. I love the saloon scene in this ride and the outside is stunning. That makes this one of the best rides in the world!
