Walt Disney World Raises Ticket & Annual Pass Prices

Walt Disney World has increased ticket and annual pass prices across the board. This comes as no surprise, it is done annually at this point and generally in the first 2 weeks of October. In this post, we’ll share the price increases and add commentary along the way.

This may be the annual ticket price increase but we’ve known about 2027 costing more than 2026 for months. When Walt Disney World announced their vacation packages for next year way back in April we were able to see how the prices will, and have, changed.

Really, this ticket price increase is all about November and December 2027 as those prices hadn’t been announced yet. In other words, the highest and lowest prices for 2027 in January-October have all stayed the same. The Christmas season in 2027 will hit a new price high. We will get into specifics below.

The bigger news for the day are the Annual Pass increases at Walt Disney World. One of those in particular has seen a much bigger jump in price and the increase is effective immediately. Let’s get into the details on both, starting with the tickets.

Ticket Price Increase for 2027 at Walt Disney World

Disney World uses dynamic ticket pricing, meaning the price is higher or lower depending on the date. A busier time of year is when you can expect to pay more, slower time of year means you pay less. You get it! All of the lowest prices are offered during August and September. That certainly fits in with the crowd calendar from 2026. Here are the lowest priced tickets per park in 2027:

  • Magic Kingdom – $139
  • Epcot – $129
  • Hollywood Studios – $139
  • Animal Kingdom – $119

The highest priced tickets in 2027 fall in November and December after this increase and are priced:

  • Magic Kingdom – $229
  • Epcot – $229
  • Hollywood Studios – $214
  • Animal Kingdom – $189

Going off of the previously announced ticket peaks in 2027, the increase in record highs is:

  • Magic Kingdom’s peak price increased by $10
  • Epcot’s peak price increased by $15
  • Hollywood Studios’ peak price increased by $5
  • Animal Kingdom’s peak price increased by $5

November and December 2027 are more expensive across the board compared to 2026. Again, that doesn’t come as a surprise. The dates that are $20 more than in 2026 are a little harder to stomach but days that are $5 or $10 more is a modest increase and about all we can hope for as Disney fans at this point.

Is it a little frustrating that we’re so resigned to annual price increases on tickets? Yes, especially with how expensive tickets already are. We’d love to see year-over-year prices stay the same, if not decrease. But the reality is that the competition is also increasing prices, and standard inflation will keep driving up tickets.

But I doubt that a modest (by percentage) ticket price increase is driving away fans. WDW knows that too. Maybe there’s a breaking point for guests somewhere along the way but increasing ticket prices by less than 5% likely isn’t going to do it. That doesn’t mean we like it but there’s a feeling of inevitably that I’ve just come to accept. More power to you if you haven’t.

Compared to prior years, this increase isn’t all that dramatic. That might be because ticket prices are already so high that they can increase them by the same amount and the percentage is lower. A jump from $214 to $229 is a smaller percentage than a jump from $194 to $209, but a $15 increase is a $15 increase.

There’s no groundbreaking commentary (my typical commentary is usually so groundbreaking, insert sarcasm font) to add to this news. We don’t like price increases. Disney, and other theme parks, will keep increasing prices. If they’re going to increase, we’d rather see them do it in small increments. This is all common sense stuff but no less true.

Annual Pass Increases at Walt Disney World

Annual Passes have also received a price hike, as of October 6th. Here are the new prices compared to the old in parentheses:

  • Incredi-Pass: $1,749 ($1,629)
  • Sorcerer Pass: $1,139 – ($1,099)
  • Pirate Pass: $909 – ($869)
  • Pixie Pass: $499 – ($489)

As you can see, the most expensive pass went up by $120. The two middle tier passes went up by $40, while the Pixie Pass received a small $10 increase. Last year, those increases were $80, $20, $40, and $20.

There are some caveats here, namely that all passes except for the most expensive are only available to Florida Residents or DVC Members. The latter can only purchase the Sorcerer Pass. If you aren’t a Florida Resident or DVC member then the only pass to purchase is Incredi-Pass. Those are expensive!

If it wasn’t clear already, Walt Disney World really caters to in-state Annual Passholders. It’s nice to see only a small increase on the Pixie Pass, keeping an option under $500 is good optics and good news for those living in state. Likewise, a $40 increase to the two middle options isn’t unusual or surprising compared to recent price hikes.

The $120 is a little more shocking. That the Incredi-Pass has gone up $200 over the course of 2 years shows how far Disney is trying to stretch this premium product. I don’t like it, but I do get it. For those guests living out of state that visit Disney World 3 or more times per year, the Incredi-Pass still offers value after a $200 increase. Maybe that particular set of guests will rethink their frequent vacations to the vacation kingdom but Disney doesn’t think they will.

I wish that wasn’t the case. While I appreciate WDW wanting to feel more local, it also feels like the resort is pushing out a loyal set of the fanbase. $1,749 is an extreme price and one that will make many guests think twice before buying. I’m not sure that bothers Disney all that much.

This is generally my least favorite post to write every year. Partially because no one is happy about it. The other reason is that the analysis seems so mind numbing; ticket increases are bad but make sense for a business. There’s only so many ways to say that. But that’s where we are. I expect another increase in October of 2027 and I’ll be here writing the same thing!
