Disneyland Resort Raises Some Ticket Prices, Others Prices Stay the Same – Glass Half Full or Half Empty?

I’ve heard it said many times that you have to celebrate the small wins. While we generally dread the day Disney raises the prices on park tickets every October, we came away pleasantly surprised by that very news announced about Disneyland today. Some ticket prices increased, as we expected, but other prices surprisingly stayed the same. In this post, we’ll share all the increases and non-increases that came to Disneyland Resort.

Before I’m accused of glazing (is that what the kids are saying?) or going soft on Disney, I should mention that I’m against ticket price increases overall. While I understand why they happen from a business perspective, the dramatic increase in cost of tickets over the last decade is hard to stomach. That we need to celebrate the silver lining of very minor increases is a byproduct of the drastic and frustrating current ticket prices. We can set our calendar to these annual price hikes, an unfortunate conditioning for Disney fans.

Nonetheless, today’s price increases are the smallest by percentage and actual dollar amount since at least 2018, pandemic years notwithstanding. Maybe Disneyland has reached a breaking point. The cynic might say that this is just setting up another price increase early next year. I’m skeptical about that cynicism but it’s all conjecture for now. What we do know is that the increase is much smaller than I expected. Here’s everything that changed prices, as well as some notable tickets that didn’t change prices.

Single Day, 1 Park-per-day Ticket Price (Previous price is in parentheses)

  • 1-Day, 1-Park (Tier 0) – $104 ($104)
  • 1-Day, 1-Park (Tier 1) – $134 ($129)
  • 1-Day, 1-Park (Tier 2) – $154 ($149)
  • 1-Day, 1-Park (Tier 3) – $174 ($169)
  • 1-Day, 1-Park (Tier 4) – $189 ($184)
  • 1-Day, 1-Park (Tier 5) – $199 ($199)
  • 1-Day, 1-Park (Tier 6) – $224 ($224)

Disneyland Resort has stuck with the dynamic pricing model, offering different tiered pricing depending on which day you visit. Tier 0, 5, and 6 have all stayed the same price. That is not surprising on the bookends, as it’s a nice talking point for Disney, saying that there aren’t any price increases on the floor or ceiling. No change to tier 5 is far more surprising, as there’s a wide gap between the tier 5 and 6 price. We’re very happy to see that price stay the same.

Another pleasant surprise is that the amount of tier 0 days is increasing while tier 6 days are decreasing! I did not expect this, even for a second. Maybe Disneyland has outpriced themselves on tier 6 days.

The $5 increase across the board for tiers 1-4 is about as good as we can hope for. Well, I guess we can hope for no increase but we’ve already covered that.

Multi Day, Single Park Ticket Prices

  • 2-Day, 1-Park – $335
  • 3-Day, 1-Park – $425
  • 4-Day, 1-Park – $480
  • 5-Day, 1-Park – $520

All of these tickets stayed the same price! This might be the biggest surprise on the list, as I would have expected at least a $5 increase across the board.

Where they did increase is the Park Hopper add-on. Depending on how many days your ticket is, the Park Hopper option is up anywhere from $5-$15 per ticket. I prefer the increase here instead of base tickets, as the add-on is extremely enjoyable but not necessary.

Likewise, Lightning Lane Multi Pass is now up $1 per person, from $34/day to $35/ day. Another small increase to an add-on isn’t going to stop anyone from visiting Disneyland Resort. In fact, I don’t think it’s going to change the equation for who buys Multi Pass at all.

Parking prices stayed the same, at $40 for a vehicle. That’s already ridiculously expensive so it’s good to see the price stay the same.

No Increase on Magic Keys

Disneyland Resort’s Annual Pass program, called Magic Keys, didn’t see an increase in price. This comes after significant increases the last few years, including $100+ price hikes 2 of the last 3 years, and all 3 for some passes. Even after the price increases of the last few years, I’m surprised to not see one in 2026 leading into 2027.

Maybe the rubber has met the road for Magic Keys at Disneyland Resort. I’ve heard from many different Magic Key holders that they’ve been unhappy with the increases relative to the busyness that the resort has seen throughout most of the year. Taking a year off from price increases seems like a wise move for Disneyland Resort, as they continue to try and raise guest satisfaction.

On top of that, Disneyland Resort has also announced that they will be getting rid of the no show penalty that comes along with reservation system. Magic Key holders will be able to cancel or modify their reservation up until 11:59 PM on the day of. This is an excellent change and is a good sign for the easing of reservations in the future.

Commentary

It’s easy to see another price increase from Disneyland Resort and say that it’s bad news. Those feelings aren’t wrong, a Disney trip is expensive and every increase makes visiting a little more difficult. But in terms of the annual ticket increase at Disneyland, these increases were miniscule. In fact, there were very few actual increases!

As I mentioned in the opening, maybe that will open the door for other price hikes throughout 2027. There’s also a chance that Disneyland has shifted strategies, offering fewer ticket deals but also fewer increases in price. I’d be happy with that shift and I do think 2027’s summer will put that to the test.

I may be a little too glass half full on this news for some. It’s easier to focus on the negative and be upset about another annual increase. I get that. But I found the Disneyland news today to be surprising in the lack of increases, especially relative to Walt Disney World.
