New Offerings Coming to Walt Disney World’s BoardWalk

Walt Disney World is adding some new tenants to the BoardWalk! The area around Crescent Lake, featuring the Boardwalk Inn as well as several restaurants and shops, has seen a few changes over the last few years. In fact, there’s been enough changeover to say that the BoardWalk is going through a full renovation. In this post, we’ll share what’s to come with this next wave of additions.

These announcements come after The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant has already debuted at The BoardWalk and Jellyrolls Dueling Piano Bar closed. The whole area has felt caught in between for the last few years, closing plenty of places while others open. It seems that the area is slowly coming out of that fog. Here is what Disney has shared about what’s to come at the BoardWalk.

Disney’s BoardWalk has long been known for its timeless charm, lively atmosphere and unique mix of dining, shopping, and nightlife. Inspired by turn-of-the-century coastal boardwalks like those found in Atlantic City and Coney Island, this waterfront promenade remains a favorite place to relax and play along Crescent Lake.

These upcoming additions are part of the continued evolution of Disney’s BoardWalk, bringing new excitement while preserving the heart of what makes it so special. Check into Disney’s BoardWalk Inn or stop by for a night out after visiting EPCOT right next-door and you’ll find that there’s always something enchanting waiting to be discovered at Disney’s BoardWalk.

A New Lounge Takes Center Stage

Tucked along the waterfront, Hurly-Burly will welcome guests for fun-filled afternoons and glamorous evenings inside a historic seaside theatre with a vibrant BoardWalk story that spans over a century.

During the afternoon, guests can drop by for family-friendly activities like trivia and other games led by a charismatic host. By night, Hurly-Burly will transition into a live music venue, welcoming guests 21-and-over to unwind with classic, coastal-inspired cocktails and tasty light bites, while enjoying a variety of musical entertainment that perfectly complements the BoardWalk’s other unique offerings.

Whether you’re stopping by for a round of daytime trivia or an evening of seaside serenades, Hurly-Burly is the sort of spot you’ll find yourself visiting again and again for both the flavorful refreshments and the lively atmosphere.

A New Shopping Experience Brings Vintage Charm

Basin is bringing a new retail experience to Disney’s BoardWalk. Rooted in the resort’s classic boardwalk heritage, Basin on the BoardWalk will offer a sensory shopping experience that feels both timeless and distinctly new.

Inside, you’ll discover a curated collection of handcrafted products made with quality ingredients, including natural soaps, botanical bath salts, bath bombs, body butters, lip salves, shampoo and conditioner bars, and more.

The location will also feature interactive elements that make the experience especially unique, including a custom bath tea blending counter, a make-your-own-soap station, and a soap embossing press for a personalized finishing touch.

More BoardWalk Updates are Coming!

There’s even more to come, with a new quick-service restaurant also coming soon to Disney’s BoardWalk — but more on that later this summer.

Commentary

It’s great to see some fresh blood coming to the BoardWalk! With the area feeling a little in between for the last few years, I’m happy to see some clarification on what’s to come. And there’s a lot of promise in these offerings. I can’t say that I’ll be spending much time in Basin, if any, but I’m sure Melissa will be excited to drop in and get a bath bomb.

Hurly-Burly has a more universal appeal. It appears that this spot will be replacing Jellyrolls, toward the end of the BoardWalk and across from Atlantic Dance Hall. The nighttime offerings doesn’t sound all that different from Jellyrolls, minus the dueling pianos. Having a place where you can consistently catch live music and a drink will be a nice addition to the area. The concept art doesn’t look like anything mind blowing but the space should fit in with the area.

There is a chance that Hurly-Burly gets a great theme. Disney World is no stranger to elaborate bars and lounges and a fun jazz bar or speakeasy would be fantastic! There’s reason to be optimistic here and I’m excited that something new is coming to the space.

The daytime offering will be really interesting to monitor. From the information that Disney has given us, it feels like an upgraded version of pool games and trivia that many of the resorts offer. That’s not a bad thing, as those generally get participation. I do wonder what kind of audience the daytime trivia and games can pull in. The area is a tough sell, not many people are going to the BoardWalk just on a whim. I would think that the Hurly-Burly is counting on Crescent Lake area resort guests to keep this place going.

Boardwalk Deli outside (1 of 1)

The news I’m most excited about is the one without any detail. Disney’s BoardWalk getting a counter-service restaurant is great news! The area, including the resorts, is void of anything interesting when it comes to a quick meal. Hopefully a new spot can change that, offering something more than the average sandwiches you can find at the BoardWalk Deli.

Time will tell on that. We’re thrilled to see new additions coming to the BoardWalk and are eager to hear about what’s coming next!
