Attraction Rankings

Ranking all of the Disney Attractions I’ve Been On

We originally ran this post as our 1,000th post on the site! There are several references to that but I wanted to make an update after experiencing quite a few new rides in the last couple of years. I’ll do one big update now and then create a new post in a few months after we experience Disneyland Paris. Shout out to Chris who has been asking for an update on this post for a while!

What better way to spend the 1,000th post on this website than by ranking every Disney attraction I’ve been on? Please don’t answer that because I’m sure there are so many different (better) ways. But here we are, and long time readers will know that ranking things and overly long posts are really what makes Wandering in Disney go.

Alligator Swamp Band Splash Mountain DL

I won’t spend much time in the preamble because this is exceptionally long. The rules are as follows:

  • There will be no ranking of stage shows but 3D movies are acceptable. Walkthrough attractions are also acceptable.
  • I’ll be ranking from Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort and Tokyo Disney Resort. Hopefully I’ll have made it to the other resorts before the 2,000th post. Hopefully I’m still alive by the time this site gets to 2,000.
  • Unlike the individual park attraction ranking posts, these are more based on my favorites than anything else.
  • I’m going to use every iteration of an attraction unless they are exactly the same. For example, I ranked all of the different Haunted Mansions but did combine PhilharMagic. If you came into this post hoping that I ranked the individual PhilharMagics then… Who are you?
  • Substantial overlays are included but extinct attractions are not.

That about does it, although I’m sure I did something wrong along the way. How’s that for confidence after 1,000 posts? For those wondering, because I know you’re out there, most Universal attractions (which I didn’t rank) wouldn’t rank in the top 40 for me. The exceptions are Harry Potter & The Forbidden Journey, which would be top 15, the Studio Tour, which would be top 20, and The Amazing Adventure of Spider-Man, which would be top 40.

If you have questions or thoughts, then please let me know in the comments! Let’s get to it!

187. Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along (Epcot) – Is this a terrible movie that has you try to sing-along with great songs? Yes. Am I bitter because it replaced Impressions de France? Yes. For that, it’s last place.

186. Magic Carpets of Aladdin (MK) – This spinner ride creaks so much, it’s a little bit worrisome.

185. Tomorrowland Speedway (MK) – It might be a little more interesting now that the Tron coaster is nearby but it smells bad and is not enjoyable to ride either.

184. Jumpin’ Jellyfish (DCA) – One time I used this to watch a show down below because I showed up late and the crowd was large. That worked out pretty well actually!

183. The Whirlpool (TDS) – This DisneySea ride is like Mad Tea Party except you can’t spin the cup? What’s the point if you can’t spin it!

182. Monsters Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! (DCA) – It’s okay until you look too closely at the animatronics figures. The door scene is pretty cool but it could be so much more.

181. The Seas with Nemo & Friends (Epcot) – I’ve been on this many times and I can’t remember a second of the plot.

180. Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind (DCA) – I like all of the colors! There’s nothing really wrong with it but I also don’t want to ride it.

179. Jumpin’ Jellyfish (TDS) – I remember liking this much more than the California Adventure counterpart. No, I didn’t like it enough to remember why.

Jumping Jellyfish King Triton's Kingdom TDS

178. Autopia (DL) – While I do appreciate the differences compared to the lackluster Tomorrowland Speedway, I just really despise going on this attraction. Also, not many people pronounce Autopia correctly.

177. Scuttle’s Scooters (TDS) – The ride vehicles are very cute and this looks cool at night. Otherwise, it’s the kind of ride you could go on at the fair.

176. Jessie’s Critter Carousel (DCA) – It’s a small carousel but the critters are so cute!

175. Gadget’s Go Coaster (TDL) – Both the Tokyo Disneyland and former Disneyland mini coaster are pretty bland but a good intro coaster for little ones.

174. Chip ‘n Dale’s Treehouse (TDL) – Have you ever thought about Chip and Dale being the largest chipmunks of all time? Me neither.

173. The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure (DCA) – The Ursula animatronic is great and the rest is incredibly bland, poorly lit and unimaginative.

172. Journey Into Imagination With Figment (Epcot) – At this point, this is a bad ride with a lot of history. At least it’s original!

Figment statue Epcot WDW 50th

171. Chip n’ Dale’s Gadget Coaster (DL) – A slightly improved version of the Gadget Coaster that remains in Tokyo Disneyland.

170. Alien Swirling Saucers (DHS) – The same ride system as Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, which is ranked much higher, but this one lacks character.

169. Minnie’s House (TDL) – Minnie should have enough money to buy a mansion by now.

168. Goofy’s Paint ‘n’ Play House (TDL) – Of the Toontown houses, this one had stuff to do inside and so it’s ranked a little higher.

167. Blowfish Balloon Race (TDS) – The same system as Flik’s Flyers or Emotional Whirlwind but this flies over Mermaid Lagoon.

166. Goofy’s Sky School (DCA) – This scares me as much as anything on the list, I despise wild mouse coasters. I also just don’t think it’s a very good attraction.

165. Turtle Talk with Crush (Epcot) – The show is pretty funny but the room that it’s hosted in is nondescript and cramped.

164. Donald’s Boat (TDL) – I always remember Donald’s Boat more fondly because I really like waterfalls!

163. Castle Carousel (TDL) – Carousels behind castles is an ideal location but this is still just a carousel.

162. Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters (DCA) – It will be forever funny to me that this was the first trackless Disney ride in the states.

Luigi's Rollickin Roadsters sunset Cars Land DCA

161. Flounder’s Flying Fish Coaster (TDS) – This is the good version of Gadget’s Go Coaster, meaning it’s still not great.

160. Awesome Planet (Epcot) – An environmental film in Epcot that’s a bit too heavy handed in messaging.

159. King Arthur Carousel (DL) – The centerpiece of Disneyland’s Fantasyland. I really like the sword in the stone right beside it.

158. Dumbo the Flying Elephant (DL & TDL) – I know it’s a classic but it’s also a spinner that has half hour waits in the hot sun.

157. Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid (MK) – This moves up quite a few spots from the California Adventure version thanks to the outstanding queue.

156. Turtle Talk with Crush (DCA) – One of the best places to sit on a hot day at California Adventure.

155. Silly Symphony Swings (DCA) – The swings add some nice kinetic energy to the pier.

154. Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360 (Epcot) – This new film in the Canada Pavilion is a solid upgrade from the previous iteration.

Canada garden flowers Epcot

153. Sorcerer’s Workshop (DCA) – This would likely be much lower if it didn’t have some amazing light fixtures!

152. Prince Charming Regal Carousel (MK) – Finishing higher than other carousels because of the history behind it.

151. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (MK) – For whatever reason, this ride just doesn’t work despite a somewhat fun queue and the most adorable characters around.

150. Vacation Fun (DHS) – An original Mickey short that fits alongside Runaway Railway is a decent use of this space.

149. Casey Jr. Circus Train (DL) – This goofy Fantasyland ride is surprisingly fun if you ride in the very back, facing the other way. I have some good memories here!

148. Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition (DL) – The shooting range is pure nostalgia and worth saving a few quarters for.

147. Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade (MK) – I ranked Magic Kingdom’s shooting range higher because it was free on the 50th anniversary and because it will be gone soon. That’s not a very good reason.

146. Pixar Pal-A-Round (DCA) – The scariest ride at Disneyland Resort has earned the nickname ‘Wheel of Death’.

Pixar Pier fun wheel sunset DCA

145. Wildlife Express Train (AK) – It’s a nice little train ride but not in the realm of others on this list.

144. Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage (DL) – I love the idea here and also looking at the lagoon! Unfortunately, I don’t like riding the actual attraction.

143. It’s Tough to be a Bug! (AK) – This is a confusingly scary 3D attraction that earns points for creativity and not much else.

142. Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard (DL) – To me, this is the best possible version of an interactive Toontown attraction.

141. Jasmine’s Flying Carpets (TDS) – A surprisingly pretty spinner that completes DisneySea’s Arabian Coast.

140. The Barnstormer (MK) – Fun to ride five times in a row, late at night when there’s no line. That makes the 20 second ride a little more worth it!

139. Adventureland Treehouse (DL) – I like the retheme here but there was only so much room for this to move up the list.

138. Alice’s Tea Party (TDL) – It’s the teacups but not as pretty as the other two on the list.

137. Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough (DL) – Walking through the castle is fun but the story doesn’t do much for me.

136. Astro Orbiter (DL) – My favorite Disneyland spinner offers some interesting views of the castle.

Astro Orbiter DL

135. Mad Tea Party (MK) – I like the little critter that pops up when the ride ends!

134. Cinderella’s Fairytale Hall (TDL) – Like the Disneyland castle walkthrough but more modern and prettier!

133. Caravan Carousel (TDS) – The highest ranking carousel because it’s a double decker! If you’re going to build a carousel make it a double decker.

132. Na’vi River Journey (AK) – River Journey is absolutely beautiful without even a hint of a plot.

131. Kali River Rapids (AK) – Kind of the opposite of River Journey here, so much plot that it gets in the way of the fun!

130. The Hall of Presidents (MK) – An old school attraction that’s in need of reimagining.

129. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin (MK) – Significantly worse than the Disneyland version, partially because you can’t hold the laser gun.

128. Raging Spirits (TDS) – The appearance is outstanding, the ride is really lacking.

127. Swiss Family Treehouse (MK) – I like the old Swiss Family theme with stunning views of the castle.

Swiss Family Treehouse lantern castle MK

126. Magic Lamp Theater (TDS) – Maybe I was just confused since this was in Japanese… Or maybe this is just a very weird show.

125. Omnibus (DL) – On one hand, it’s just a bus going down Main Street. On the other, this should really rank much higher.

124. Mickey’s PhilharMagic (TDL, DCA & MK) – This seems like the best case scenario 3D movie attraction. It’s good fun.

123. Redwood Creek Challenge Trail (DCA) – The start of the fun walkthrough/playground attractions. This fits into the area seamlessly.

122. Swiss Family Treehouse (TDL) – The highest ranked treehouse because of the view of the castle and Tokyo Bay.

121. Mad Tea Party (DL) – My favorite teacups ride because of the beautiful lamps above the attraction.

120. The Boneyard (AK) – Another playground expertly fit to the land it resides in.

119. Mission: SPACE (Epcot) – The outdated graphics really take me out of this ride’s immersion.

118. Golden Zephyr (DCA) – I joke with people that this is my favorite ride. It does have some whimsy to it and is beautiful around sunset.

117. Dumbo the Flying Elephant (MK) – The reimagined Dumbo is much better thanks to the shorter waits.

Dumbo daytime MK

116. Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree (DCA) – Try going on this and not smiling. Better yet, don’t even try that impossible task and just laugh the entire time.

115. Astro Orbiter (MK) – The craziest of the spinner rides. I do not feel safe on this one but that’s probably more of a me problem than the ride. Don’t judge me, please.

114. Gran Fiesta Tour (Epcot) – Perhaps higher than it should be, this slow boat ride is zany and fun and embodies the spirit of the Three Caballeros.

113 Pinocchio’s Daring Journey (DL) – It’s not in the best shape and has a confusing plotline but an enjoyable short wait.

112. Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island (DL) – They should ditch the Pirate’s Lair theme here.

111. Reflections of China (Epcot) – The China Pavilion could use an updated film but this one is still effective and lovely.

110. Tom Sawyer Island (MK) – A vestige to older theme park design and still a joy to walk around.

109. Nemo & Friends SeaRider (TDS) – One of the few things at Tokyo Disney Resort that might be slightly out of place.

108. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress (MK) – I don’t think this has aged very well for a few different reasons but the original song is still a banger.

Carousel of Progress MK night

107. Pinocchio’s Daring Journey (TDL) – This iteration beats the Disneyland counterpart because you can actually see what’s going on in here.

106. Walt Disney World Railroad (MK) – It doesn’t reach the heights that all of the other castle park trains h.

105. Walt Disney Presents (DHS) – A mini museum with a heartfelt film at the end. It feels like it should be somewhere on Main Street but is obscurely placed in Hollywood Studios.

105. DisneySea Transit Steamer Line (TDS) – There’s a good amount of transportation rides coming up on the list. Them placing this high tells you how much I like unique transportation options.

104. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (DL) – I forgive it for replacing my beloved Country Bears. It’s a sweet little ride with minimal waits.

103. WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure (DCA) – Hopefully that E-ticket Marvel ride is built and this becomes a quality third attraction in the land.

WEB Slingers ride vehicle DCA

102. Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies (TDS) – Cheese is the real hero. This kid’s ride is much better than it has any right to be.

101. Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor (MK) – Questionably placed but I always have a good time.

100. Storybook Land Canal Boats (DL) – It’s a nice ride. It’s an even better attraction when ducks are sitting by the little villages, appearing to be Godzilla-esque figures to the miniatures.

99. Western River Railroad (TDL) – Tokyo Disneyland can’t have a railroad around the park for legal reasons. This is a nice solution and a beautiful ride.

98. Muppet*Vision 3D (DHS) – Let’s hear it for Sweetums, putting out fires since 1991.

97. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster (DHS) – If you’re really into thrill rides featuring a rock band that was best known in the 90’s then this will be your number 1, I assume. Looking forward to the Muppets retheme.

96. Disneyland Monorail (DL) – I’m very thankful for the monorail, as it’s on our way into the Disneyland Resort so it saves us many steps. It’s also a great ride.

95. Frozen Ever After (Epcot) – The projected faces on the animatronics bother me, as do a few of the blank and dark spots. That said, it’s a decent dark ride.

94. Sailing Ship Columbia (DL) – Sailing along the Rivers of America as the cannon blasts is sublime.

93. Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln (DL) – It’s truly amazing how well this show and the animatronic have held up over the many years.

92. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (MK) – TBA is a fun ride thanks to the drop and some cool characters but the pacing is a huge problem and the plot just doesn’t work for me.

91. Soarin’ Around the World (DCA & Epcot) – This will be too low for some but the CGI has worn me down over the years. I find the original so much more charming.

90. Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes (DL) – The downside – your arms will likely get sore. The upside – taking a trip on the canoes is funny, interesting and a unique Disneyland ride.

Mark Twain raft River canoes DL

89. Star Tours – The Adventure Continues (TDL & DL) – Hot take: If they got rid of the episode 9 scenes then this would rank at least a few spots higher.

88. The Enchanted Tiki Room: Stitch Presents “Aloha E Komo Mai!” (TDL) – A zany take on the original Tiki Room, with Stitch doing his best Elvis impression.

87. Liberty Square Riverboat (MK) – I’m always up for a riverboat ride. I think the other versions are a little more scenic though.

86. Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster (TDL & DL) – I can’t get over the 600,000 point barrier unless I’m stuck in the right spot and that really bothers me.

85. Animation Academy (DCA) – Even for a terrible artist like myself, this is one of my favorite spots in California Adventure.

84. Star Tours – The Adventure Continues (DHS) – I do like the Hollywood Studios iteration better because of the queue.

83. Aquatopia (TDS) – Zipping around the water on this trackless ride is a blast, even if it’s a little simple.

Aquatopia ride building and volcano TDS

82. Living with the Land (Epcot) – A slow boat ride that embodies the original idea of Epcot.

81. Snow White’s Adventure (TDL) – The crazy ending that the original Disneyland attraction had is still in place in Tokyo.

80. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run (DL & DHS) – Smugglers Run would take a leap if they had different missions to go on instead of the same one every time. Hopefully that comes in the future.

79. Toy Story Midway Mania! (DCA) – Ranking all of these separately seems a little tedious but the queues are different and California Adventure has the worst one.

78. Toy Story Mania! (DHS) – This one beats out DCA because it loads a little faster.

77. Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room (DL) – All of these years later, grabbing a Dole Whip and watching the birds sing is delightful.

76. Toy Story Mania (TDS) – I love entering through the giant Woody face.

75. Snow White’s Enchanted Wish (DL) – Some of the new scenes in this reimagined attraction are beautiful.

75. Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room (MK) – This one places higher with the full show and in the more elaborate building.

74. The American Adventure (Epcot) – I’m still blown away by the sh7ow’s pulley system. Admittedly, I might be in the minority.

73. Slinky Dog Dash (DHS) – This is a very good family coaster but not quite worth the hype, or wait times, it has.

Slinky at me SDD TSL DHS

72. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (MK) – A very strong attraction that would vault even higher if it didn’t feel so short.

71. DisneySea Electric Railway (TDS) – Give me a railway that looks across both the most beautiful theme park in the world and views into the Pacific Ocean and I’m going to love it.

70. DINOSAUR (AK) – I can’t prove this but I think the ride gets darker every time I ride it. Soon it will go dark for good.

69. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure (Epcot) – If this didn’t rely so heavily on screens it would jump up the list.

68. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway (DHS) – A really enjoyable attraction with some flaws. I do like the queue better in Disneyland so this ranks a little lower.

67. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (TDS) – This iteration of the extinct castle park attraction fits brilliantly in Mysterious Island.

66. Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin (DL & TDL) – If you don’t spin much then you’ll find one of the zaniest dark rides ever created. If you do spin, have fun!

65. Country Bear Musical Jamboree (MK) – No, it’s not my beloved bears singing their classic songs… But it is still very funny and a little more appealing for all crowds.

64. Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival (TDS) – Having one of the most beautiful ride rooms ever created puts this Fantasy Springs ride in a decent spot.

63. Spaceship Earth (Epcot) – This classic is still in need of a refresh but is interesting and climactic nonetheless.

Epcot statue SSE colorful night

62. Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! (DCA) – Fun and ugly! No, I’m not talking about Drax.

61. Pirates of the Caribbean (MK) – It’s still a great ride but Magic Kingdom’s version is substantially worse.

60. Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana (Epcot) – I love this walkthrough attraction as it’s interactive and beautiful!

59. Mark Twain Riverboat (TDL) – The most romantic ride in a castle park. If you don’t believe me, take a cruise at sunset.

58. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (DL) – The ride is a lot of fun even if the plot is a bit of a disaster. The flow of this attraction works much better than Magic Kingdom’s.

57. Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover (MK) – You know that thing where people say something is underrated so much that it becomes overrated? That’s the case here even though it is a wonderful ride.

56. Mark Twain Riverboat (DL) – I ranked it higher than all of the other riverboats because I do like the changes to the river.

55. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway (DL) – An exceptional queue elevates this attraction. We need more family rides!

54. Grizzly River Run (DCA) – Probably my favorite river raft ride I’ve ever been on. It could use a few bear animatronics on it. Or just Big Al hanging out and playing some songs.

53. it’s a small world (MK) – Missing some of the pizazz of the other Small World facades.

52. Soaring: Fantastic Flight (TDS) – If the on-ride experience was even close to as good as the queue then this would be top 10.

51. Disneyland Railroad (DL) – Primeval World and riding over the river are a Disneyland rite of passage.

Front of park Mickey and train station DL

50. TRON Lightcycle / Run (MK) – We all wish this was a longer ride but it is still very cool the way it is!

49. Incredicoaster (DCA) – It’s up for debate if this is better than California Screamin’. What isn’t up for debate is that this is very fun.

48. Hyperspace Mountain (DL) – This special layover is fun but doesn’t touch the original attraction.

47. Maharajah Jungle Trek (AK) – An absolutely gorgeous place to walk through, complete with storytelling and tigers!

46. Space Mountain (MK) – Why isn’t the soundtrack louder? I like it but I like other versions much more.

45. Monsters Inc. Ride & Go Seek (TDL) – The Monsters Inc. attraction that we deserve. Well, that and the soon-to-be door coaster.

Sulley sewer Monsters Inc ride seek TDL

44. Jungle Cruise (DL) – The original Jungle Cruise lags behind the other iterations but is still a joy to go on.

43. Venetian Gondolas (TDS) – Forget what I said about the riverboats being the most romantic attraction. This is it.

42. Impressions de France (Epcot) – A personal favorite. When the organs come in on the final scene, I feel things.

41. Alice in Wonderland (DL) – The most underrated dark ride in the world.

40. Peter Pan’s Flight (DL) – Ranked behind the other iterations because the queue is just not a fun experience.

39. it’s a small world (TDL) – The facade of this attraction is so stunning, albeit not as iconic as the original Disneyland edition.

38. Peter Pan’s Flight (MK) – A wonderful dark ride that we all wish had a shorter line.

37. Peter Pan’s Flight (TDL) – Like most dark rides, the Tokyo Disneyland version is better maintained than the others.

Peter Pan's Flight clock London TDL

36. Jungle Cruise (MK) – The temple here boosts it up a few spots from the Disneyland version.

35. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (MK) – All of these are clearly amazing attractions now and that started about 20 spots ago. Picking nits, this iteration of Big Thunder could really use some of the special effects.

34. it’s a small world (DL) – As I get older (and more sentimental), this will continue to rise up the rankings until it defeats all the others. Just like the dolls in here and the actual world.

33. it’s a small world holiday (DL) – If you like Small World and haven’t been on the overlay then please come at Christmas and enjoy it with me.

32. Soarin’ Over California (DCA) – Another point for actually filming instead of using CGI. Keep the original in California Adventure full time!

31. Jungle Cruise: Wildlife Expeditions (TDL) – Hearing some of the classic Jungle Cruise jokes in a different language is a hoot. More prevalent is just how beautiful this ride is.

30. Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride (DL) – From the cheeky line of going ‘nowhere in particular’ to the crazy ending, this is the leader in the Keep Disneyland Weird campaign.

29. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (TDL) – Similar to Magic Kingdom’s but with a few more effects.

28. Haunted Mansion (DL) – You know that B-movie that is one of your favorites? That’s what Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion is to all of us that love it.

Haunted Mansion stretching room DL

27. Haunted Mansion (TDL) – A stunning library room and a cross between Magic Kingdom’s and Disneyland’s version of the attraction, have this ranking just above DL’s.

26. Indiana Jones Adventure (DL) – An extravagant thrill ride. There’s this weird dark space in the attraction because they ran out of money.

25. Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull (TDS) – Nearly a remake of the Disneyland version but without the weird dark space and inside of a giant pyramid/temple.

24. Fortress Explorations (TDS) – A walkthrough attraction that is perfection. Seriously, I don’t know how they could improve upon this.

23. Haunted Mansion Holiday (DL) – The best overlay of an attraction ever made.

22. Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain (AK) – Fix the Yeti and this moves into the top ten. I dare you, Disney!

Everest water AK

21. Avatar Flight of Passage (AK) – Similar to what I said about Fortress Explorations. I don’t know how they could improve upon this attraction using the same ride system.

20. Pirates of the Caribbean (TDL) – Most similar to Disneyland’s version of the ride, this is a little shorter and not quite as in-depth.

19. Journey to the Center of the Earth (TDS) – DisneySea’s iconic attraction is impressive in so many ways, most notably the setup to the big finale.

18. Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast (TDL) – A beautiful ride filled with some show stopping scenes and a great trick that stirs some real whimsy.

17. Matterhorn Bobsleds (DL) – I’m sure I have this higher than most people but the attraction remains a hallmark of Disneyland. Being able to adequately tell a story on a roller coaster built in 1959 is an incredible feat.

16. Country Bear Theater (TDL) – I didn’t include all of the overlays here because they are all magical and fit into the show. This is a personal favorite and I hope it never disappears.

15. Space Mountain (DL) – I’ve come to love this ride more and more, largely thanks to the soundtrack.

14. Radiator Springs Racers (DCA) – This has been around for a decade and it’s easily the most popular attraction in the park still. A masterpiece of modern Imagineering.

13. Tower of Terror (TDS) – While I like the ride system at Hollywood Studios far more, the original story told here is done with a finesse that most theme park attractions don’t have.

ToT ground night TDS

12. Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure (TDS) – This joyride is so much fun, as it takes you through Neverland with the Lost Boys.

11. Kilimanjaro Safaris (AK) – The largest ride on this list still makes me feel like a kid at the zoo every time I hop on board one of those trucks.

10. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (DHS) – Just an absolute classic, with an inventive ride system and over-the-top immersion.

9. Guardians of the Galaxy – Cosmic Rewind (Epcot) – My minor quibbles with fit don’t matter much when a ride is this fun!

8. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (DL) – Another one that has grown on me more and more. It’s a fun outdoor roller coaster through a mining town, but really there’s so much more.

BTMR Night DL Clouds

7. Haunted Mansion (MK) – Disneyland’s facade is superior but once on the actual ride, this is a stunning work of art with every scene being as memorable as the last.

6. Splash Mountain (TDL) – The only version of this icon left, Splash Mountain is so well taken care of at Tokyo Disneyland. Animatronics work great and the lighting is much better than you might be used to.

5. Anna & Elsa’s Frozen Journey (TDS) – A feat of Imagineering, this Frozen-inspired dark ride feels both classic and modern.

4. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (DL & DHS) – Five plus years after the debut, Rise of the Resistant is still a wonder. The attraction is an amazing achievement with the most elaborate ride layout I’ve ever seen.

3. Pooh’s Hunny Hunt (TDL) – My favorite Fantasyland dark ride, Pooh’s Hunny Hunt is such a joy and is endlessly rideable.

2. Sinbad’s Storybook Voyage (TDS) – The best dark ride in the world is unsuspecting from the outside and maybe in the first scene or two. Then that triumphant song plays and there’s no better feeling.

1. Pirates of the Caribbean (DL) – I’ve raved about this attraction for 1,000+ posts. One of the last attractions Walt Disney ever worked on may have been his best storytelling. From the costuming, to the imaginative story, to the goofy characters, Pirates of the Caribbean is perfect.

  1. Ayeeee thank you for finally making it and thanks for the shoutout! Can’t wait for the next update with the Disneyland Paris, so many great rides there too.

Huge W for the list and putting Pirates at Disneyland at #1! It is the best ride in the world, it’s a masterpiece and a true work of art, it’s far and away the best ride of any Disney park. it’s an experience from start to finish, and truly on another level of all the other disney rides ever made. I could talk all day about the brilliance that Disneyland Pirates is, the waterfall scenes alone in the beginning are amazing. it’s so so awesome. Also huge w for having the Tokyo rides high! They are the best parks in the world by FAR, and have the best selection of rides. Journey to the Center of the Earth is the best Disney ride in the world tied with Pirates at Disneyland for me. Journey is outstanding and truly phenomenal! Everything from thrills, coaster section, dark ride, theming, queue, animatronics, elevator, ride vehicle and it being all practical sets makes it an astonishing ride experience unlike anything else in the world! The surprises it has are breathtaking and euphoric. It’s so memorable and stands tall as the best Disney ride in the world. It’s peak! Tokyo is the KING!

    • Thanks for the comment, Chris! Completely agree with everything you said. I do have Journey a little lower than you might put it but everything you said about it is spot on. I just wish there was an addition 20-30 seconds after the monster. But it’s one of the most immersive and exceptional rides around. Have you got the chance to ride the Fantasy Springs attractions?

      • I get what you’re saying about Journey about there being 10-20 seconds more but it’s also a high-speed roller coaster that has the surprise element of the speed, drops, and intensity! It always catches people off guard, and that’s the awesome thrill of it! It’s intense and spectacular! I’ve seen people get off with tears in their eyes and jumping for joy, it’s so brilliant and makes people run back in line to experience it again. it’s quick coaster section at the end is just enough and makes it endlessly re-rideable. It’s so satisfying in the end and truly incredible and leaves many riders speechless and amazed every time. It’s perfection start to finish, and makes the ride easily the best ever! Other reason why it’s number one for me is because it’s all real, huge practical sets. In this day and age with so many new great rides, focusing on screens and digital effects to wow riders, Journey does it with all practical and real effects, it’s way more impressive and better well-done always then a screen could do. With it being all practical sets, the best animatronic ever made, as well as other really neat ones, the theme being exceptional, the best show building in the world, a great queue, and really cool ride vehicles, along with the intense coaster section at the end, make it the best ride in the world!

I have experienced the fantasy Springs rides, they are all some of the best Disney rides made in decades. Anna and Elsa’s frozen Journey is fantastic, the AAs are jaw, dropping, the sets are gorgeous, in the scenes have so many wow moments. Peter Pan’s Neverland adventure is also great, Putting you in the middle of the action throughout, it has great pace and a very cool finale. Rapunzel’s Lantern festival is so dope, it has the most beautiful scene on any ride in the world, it has a lot of other lovely scenes. Fairy Tinker Bell’s busy buggies is also so so good. It’s beyond just a simple straightforward ride, the scenery is adorable, the motion of the vehicles is so fun, and the whole thing has so much charmed to it. Cheese is also so cute and alone makes the ride so awesome. All the rides are amazing and only make the best theme park in the world even more the best! Tokyo DisneySea is by FAR #1 in the world.

      • Thanks for your thoughtful answers! I agree with everything you said. Tokyo DisneySea was the best park in the world before the Fantasy Springs additions but now they have a very strong argument for best attraction roster in the world too.

Have you been to every Disney theme park resort?

  2. yes I have! I’ve been to every Disney worldwide resort in the world! How do you rank the ones you have been to?

      • That list is so valid and accurate and excellent! It’s very similar to how I rank the parks! For me, I rank the Disney parks in the world like this from best to worst:

        1. Tokyo DisneySea
        2. Tokyo Disneyland
        3. Disneyland
        4. Disneyland Paris
        5. Hong Kong Disneyland
        6. EPCOT
        7. Magic Kingdom
        8. California Adventure
        9. Animal Kingdom
        10. Shanghai Disneyland
        11. Hollywood Studios
        12. Walt Disney Studios Park

Personally, and if I’m being honest I know Animal Kingdom might seem very low and honestly should be higher maybe a spot or two, but for me, Animal Kingdom is severely lacking in rides. Right now, the park has legit six rides. I know it’s not all about the rides and all, and the park is absolutely beautiful and in terms of beauty and scenery easily top 3 Disney park in that regard, and I know people also walk the animal trails and see the shows and such, but a lot of the other Disney parks excel at this and STILL have a lot of rides to make a day out of it. I just feel DAK is a half day park, you can accomplish everything in a few hours and it’s the park with the least amount of recent additions in years and it’s really due for one. Just my opinion of course, and feel free to disagree.

      • Everything you say about Animal Kingdom is valid. If I’m viewing it as a theme park experience then it falls down quite a bit. If I view it as places I like to walk around or hang out then it moves up a little bit. They desperately need more rides there.
