Update: Oriental Land Company and Tokyo Disney Resort have announced that the last day of the Fantasy Springs specific ticket that this vacation package offers will no longer exist after March 31st, 2025. Tokyo Disney Resort will still offer vacation packages but not that specific one.
After waiting years for Tokyo DisneySea’s new port-of-call to debut, we debated at length how best to experience Fantasy Springs. Our first go around would be just a few days after the grand opening and on a weekend no less. Wanting to experience all of what the new area offered immediately, we opted to go with a Tokyo Disney Resort Vacation Package that included a ticket with unlimited entry and skip the line passes. In this post, we’ll review our experience with the Fantasy Springs Vacation Package and discuss who should splurge for it.
It probably goes without saying that we’re a little unique when it comes to Disney Parks. Unique might be generous, others might say crazy or obsessive. Our vacations aren’t always what others would consider vacations. When we’re at a theme park, I’m generally researching itineraries, trying to eat or experience something new, or take photos. That’s not to say we don’t enjoy it, we really do! I love being able to run this site and we just came off five of the best days of my life at Tokyo Disney Resort. But I do think our specific theme park situation pertains to this vacation package – it fits a very niche group of people visiting Tokyo Disney Resort and probably no one else.
Before we get into who should consider this vacation package, let’s talk about what’s offered! There were 2 days, 1 night packages and 3 days, 2 night packages. We went with the 2 days, 1 night option but know that the 3 day package included 2 days at Tokyo Disneyland and 1 day at DisneySea. The hotel options include all of the higher priced Disney Hotels: Fantasy Springs Hotel, Hotel MiraCosta, Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, Ambassador Hotel and Toy Story Hotel. We chose Toy Story because it was the cheapest option. All of the Vacation Packages started at Tokyo Disneyland and had DisneySea as the second day.
With the basics out of the way, the rest of the extras included:
- Fantasy Springs Ticket – This is part of the DisneySea ticket included in the package. The special ticket provides unlimited entry to the port and access to all of the Premier lines, meaning there will never be a wait of more than 10 or 15 minutes for any ride in Fantasy Springs all day long.
- 3 Attraction Tickets at Tokyo Disneyland – This is a skip the line pass. Known in Tokyo Disney as Priority Pass or Premier Access. Known in the states as Lightning Lane. Can we just go back to calling them FastPasses? We paid a couple of dollars more to have one of our attractions be Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast because it was cheaper than paying for the Premier Access. We were free to use the other 2 tickets on any of the Priority Pass attractions any time in the day we wanted and chose Pooh’s Hunny Hunt and Monsters Inc. Ride & Go Seek. A slightly altered package offered to trade out one of the attraction tickets for a meet & greet.
- 2 Attraction Tickets at Tokyo DisneySea – Same thing as at TDL. We paid a couple of dollars more to include Journey to the Center of the Earth. The other ticket was used on Indy but was included in the cost.
- Breakfast Buffet – Our breakfast buffet was at Lotso’s in the Toy Story Hotel. This one is dependent on what hotel you’re staying at. There is no opt-out option here, you’re paying for it in the package whether you want it or not! But who doesn’t want to gorge on pastries at 6:30 AM before a 12 hour theme park day?!
- An Original Goods Item – A souvenir was included and we got one per person. The choices were between a tote bag, gauze blanket and a toy car with Mickey in it. These choices could change anytime.
- Unlimited Drink Ticket – Presenting this ticket to any counter-service location got us drinks for the entirety of our 2 park days. That led to an incredibly high number of restroom stops but it was nice to have the caffeine and cool drinks. Most specialty drinks at the counter-service restaurants were included but alcohol is not.
- Original Souvenir Popcorn Case – A soft shell popcorn bucket that includes one box of popcorn with it. Choose your flavor wisely.
- We also received two small bags but I don’t see that listed on the website so they may not be offering that anymore. It’s not a big loss.
For all of that we paid just over 19,000 yen which amounted to about $1,200 USD. Obviously, the price is dependent on the current conversion rate. When listed out and comparing it to Disneyland or Walt Disney World prices, it seems reasonable. All of the hotels are within 10 minutes of the parks via the monorail, there’s two park tickets included, a table-service breakfast and more. Not to mention, the biggest draw is the Fantasy Springs ticket.
Comparing it to actual Tokyo Disney tickets is far less favorable. I could have gotten the 4 park tickets (on the weekend, so they were the more expensive price) for $268. The hotel was around $300 that night and can usually be had for cheaper. That’s $568, we’ll round up to $600. That means the rest of the package needs to be worth $600 to us.
I’ll admit, trying to make the math make sense ahead of time was a difficult pill for me to swallow. For as much as we travel and get to do cool stuff, we’ve never spent this much on one night and two days. We probably won’t spend this much ever again, at least unless someone is continuously handing money straight to us for a few months straight.
Sure, we had to eat so a breakfast buffet adds a little value. The drink package was more enjoyable and valuable than I anticipated! Tokyo Disney is no stranger to specialty menu items and enjoying all of those drinks was some unexpected fun. Melissa used the soft popcorn bucket quite a bit and the tote bag is nice enough, but I can’t say it moved the needle much when it came to saving on other souvenirs.
What I’m getting at is that this all comes down to that special Fantasy Springs ticket. Yes, the FastPasses (I’m just going to call them that) for Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea were fun and useful, especially on a weekend! Not having to wait more than 15 minutes once over the course of a Saturday and Sunday in a busy theme park feels good. But like the other extras, those FastPasses only hold so much value.
The Fantasy Springs ticket on the other hand is incredibly valuable. It’s hard to obtain standby passes and Premier Access to the new port. No, it’s not as hard as some make it out to be, but it does require some patience and a lot of time on your phone. You can probably finagle a way to riding everything once in one day using both standby pass and Premier Access. But that’s just once, and if you work really hard at it plus a little bit of luck. Using that Fantasy Springs ticket we completed:
- Anna & Elsa’s Frozen Journey 4 times (would have been 5 but it broke down right before we got on it once)
- Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure 5 times (Melissa actually went 9 times, 4 more while I was taking photos)
- Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival 5 times
- Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies 3 times
- A meal at the Snuggly Duckling
- Snack/light meal at Lookout Cookout
- We canceled a meal at Royal Banquet Hall of Arendelle because we were too full
- Plenty of time to look around and enjoy the new port
That’s 17 rides, 19 if you include Indiana Jones Adventure and Journey to the Center of the Earth. Melissa made it to 23 in total. There’s no arguing just how efficient the vacation package was. After we splurged for something, we were treated like we splurged on something and it’s really enjoyable to live the high life for a day or two.
Here’s the rub though – we wanted to spend all day in Fantasy Springs but don’t recommend that to nearly anyone else. Tokyo DisneySea is too good of a park to concentrate that much time in unless you’re there often or spending multiple days there after the vacation package is over. As much as I love Fantasy Springs and think it’s a wonderful addition, there’s a good argument to be made that it’s not DisneySea’s best port. In fact, it might not even be top 3! That’s all because of how good the rest of the park is and not an indictment on Fantasy Springs.
Let’s go back to that $600 mark that included 2 park tickets for 2 people and a stay in a Disney Hotel. Not counting the Fantasy Springs entry, assigning the rest of the extras a value of over $200 is a tough sell. The buffet is less than $80, the popcorn less $15, the FastPasses could be $50 if you’re feeling generous and you can probably sneak another $50-60. Maybe you adore tote bags and you can push that value to $250. That’s still $350 left and if you’re not spending all day riding those new attractions over and over again it isn’t worth it.
But I can’t say it was a bad product. We had the time of our lives! Getting to go on the new rides nearly 20 times in one day was beyond my wildest dreams and fit in perfectly with what we hoped this trip would be. If you are in DisneySea often and have the money, then this vacation package is great! I don’t think anyone who’s focused on spending their whole day in Fantasy Springs will be disappointed in the experience. There’s just so few of those people, especially outside of Japan, that the fit of this vacation package is very specific.

1st time Disneyland goer here and exploring the Vacation Package just for less stress.
Since Fantasy Springs is in DisneySea, is it possible to exit Fantasy Springs and enjoy the remainder of the day at DisneySea? I don’t think we would repeatedly go on rides at Fantasy Springs.
Oh yes, you can come and go from Fantasy Springs as you please with the vacation package! It definitely adds some convenience to the experience. When are you going, if you don’t mind me asking?
Oh that would be amazing! We’re planning on going early November. Between Tues-Thurs, hoping to avoid the crowd
Good plan! I’m not sure how long this vacation package with the Fantasy Springs ticket will run for. I wouldn’t be surprised if the complicated entry system for the new area is gone before November.
Hi. I was planning to get the vacation package(will be staying at the Tokyo DosneySea Fantasy Springs), but I was confused a bit. It says “park ticket Tokyo DisneyLand (Day 1) and 1 day passport for :Fantasy Springs Magic.”
Since it never states park ticket for Tokyo DisneySea, does it means that I have to purchase additional ticket for Tokyo DisneySea for Day 2? I’m a bit concerned on this. Thank you so much in advance for the help.
Good question! No, a park ticket to DisneySea is included in the Fantasy Springs Magic Passport. You do not need to purchase an extra ticket for that day.
Hi,
We’re a family of 5, visiting Disney for 3 days in the beginning of September 🙂 So booked the hotel and bought separate ticket as the price Diference for the package was huge… Just after that I realized the Fantasy springs was closed for general tickets 😅 Do you have any tips for someone who doesn’t gold those passes? Thank you!
You’ll still be able to enjoy Fantasy Springs without the vacation package! For now, guests can enter via a standby pass or Disney Premier Access (which is a paid FastPass). We made it in easily with standby passes on opening week so I think by December you should be in the clear.
Here are a few more tips on the new port – https://wanderingindisney.com/2024/06/11/16-tips-for-fantasy-springs/
Thank you for your great review. I too wonder how to justify for the cost of $1300+ for 1-day vacation package with 2 day passes in October. Your review put my contemplation to rest. I have a reservation for Fantasy Spring buffet dinner. Does that mean I paid for the meals? I am looking for the menu but unable to find it. Thanks again for sharing your experiences.
Hi! Do you know what restaurant you reserved?
Thanks for the great review. I admit to being completely baffled by both the official Tokyo Disney website and the whole vacation package concept as a whole. It was a nightmare to navigate the site, availability seemed to change on a dime and now I’m 100% convinced that I just paid £1,400 ($1,800) for two people for a two day trip when I didn’t need to! You mentioned swapping out the meet & greet for another attraction ticket? I would have liked that, but I wasn’t given that option? I realised I also wanted to change my attraction ticket selection after I booked, accepted it was going to be slightly more expensive (another ¥650 or something) but then it tried to charge me the whole vacation amount again, so I backed off double quick time! Do you know how their charging works? I’ve now basically decided to try and not do any of the maths, and accept it as an very expensive section of my very expensive Japanese holiday!
Hi Emma! On the bright side of spending a lot of money, you’re going to have a wonderful trip! As far as swapping out the meet & greet, there were (and I think still are) two very similar vacation packages offered. One came with the meet & greet and one with the extra ride. In the end, it only amounted to one extra ride so I wouldn’t worry too much about that especially with the free priority pass.
As far as charging goes, I can’t say I’m overly familiar with their process. I would give it a few days and then try again if you want to go for a more expensive attraction, which is probably worth your time! What I will say is that their customer service once there is second to none so if you notice any weird charges for the vacation package they can probably sort it out for you. Sorry that’s not very helpful in the short-term though!
If you have any specific trip questions please feel free to email!
Thanks for the great information, I have a 3 day two night package booked for December with the fantasy springs ticket and will be staying at the fantasy springs hotel. I was wondering how the proof of stay pass works that allows entry to fantasy springs. My second day is designated as fantasy springs premiere access. My third day is designated as Disney sea and it will be my checkout day. Will I get a proof of stay pass for the third day? Will I be allowed to enter fantasy springs that day? I was just wondering if I can use the fantasy springs entrance to get to the rest of dtsney sea. Many thanks for your thoughts.
Hello! That’s so exciting, I hope you have a fabulous trip.
From my understanding, you likely wouldn’t have select access to Fantasy Springs on the 3rd day unless you pay extra for a special ticket (which you already did pay extra for the package). I could be wrong about this so please check with them when you get there. I will say that having the unlimited for the first DisneySea day will get you on the rides as many times as you’d like! I’d plan to take full advantage that day and then use the 3rd as more of a DisneySea day with maybe a ride or two in Fantasy Springs when you get entry on your phone.
No matter what, since you are staying in the hotel, then you should be able to use that special entry into the park. Again, the rules are a little fuzzy on this because there are so many special tickets and different packages. If you’re okay with it, email me at wanderingindisney@gmail.com so then I can get more specifics and can be more confident in the answer! I don’t want you to have to share any specifics in the comments though.
Greetings, We have a package for Fantasy Springs hotel. We are staying at the Sheraton on the other side of the street from Fantasy springs hotel the night before and wondering how early we can pick up the vacation package kit? night before maybe?
Hello! Yes, you should be able to pick it up the day before. We didn’t have much trouble doing that in the Toy Story Hotel the morning before our vacation package started. Just make sure you explain you’re there to get the vouchers ahead of time.
Hi, super nice review! Thanks for that. Related to this question, we are planning to get the 2 days/ 1 night option and we want to make the most of it of course for both days. So we were wondering, how to manage the check-in in the Hotel? Because the idea is to pickup the package a day before to save that time but eventually you also need to do the check-in and leave your luggage, is this fast? Is better to leave the luggage with a locker service and do the check-in after the park day? The same with check-out, second day of park will be cut off because of the check-out?
Thanks 😉
Hello! Thanks for the comment. The check-out portion is simple, just have the hotel keep the bags. They’ll store them free of charge and it won’t take too long to go back there at night after park closing and pick them up.
The morning of is slightly trickier but, like check-out, I’d just go to the hotel early before getting in line for the park. They’ll store them for the day. Don’t worry about checking in at that time, just do that after finishing up at the park for the day. That all could make for a very early morning and you could look into storing the bags elsewhere, depending where you’re coming from, but this seems like the easiest route in total.
Hi this was super helpful. It looks like from the website they have the package through the end of February 2025 right now. Do you know if they will extend through to March? Do you know how early in advance they will start taking reservations from March 2025? Thanks.
Hello! Does the Tokyo Disney Resort Fantasy Springs Vacation Package applies for other Disney Hotel as well? Example if we were to stay at the Toy Story Hotel, we will still be given the Fantasy Spring pass right?
Yes, as long as you book the vacation package then there are multiple hotel options including the Toy Story Hotel
Hi, was only planning to get the 2 day option and stay in Toy Story as well. Did you get Happy Entry to Disneyland on your first day?
No, it is not included.
Hi! We met you at Tokyo Disneyland this past June! We have just booked a vacation package for March 2025 but aren’t sure where/when to pick up the tickets. We saw a YouTube video saying to pick them up a day early so you have everything in hand the morning the package starts, however, we also heard that the hours to pick up are limited to 7:30am-12:30pm so if we arrive to Tokyo later the day before, we will miss that window. Any suggestions?
Thank you!
Leah
Hi Leah! We remember watching the parade with you all fondly.
Where are you staying? If you’re staying by that hotel then I would just walk over there the day before and ask for your park tickets ahead of time. Then you can get to Tokyo Disneyland on the first day without having to check-in. If that doesn’t work out then I would just go check-in at the vacation package hotel first thing in the morning to pick up all of your tickets for the day and perhaps leave some of the luggage to be stored. Let me know if you have any other questions!
A wonderful breakdown! I have the “fun” of having my Tokyo Disney trip being the 2nd week of April. We were planning on doing the vacation package, so now the BIG question of value comes to, as of March 31, the fantasy springs passport is no more (If i read that correctly)? So I’m curious if that is gone, does that shift my value of the vacation package?
I think the vacation package would still be a lot of fun but no I don’t think it holds anywhere the same value now. Have you already booked the package?
Hmm, 19,000 yen seems VERY cheap.
