Catalina Eddie’s is a counter-service restaurant in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Residing on Sunset Boulevard (the theme park version, not the LA version), the restaurant serves pizza, pasta, and salads. Catalina Eddie’s is within the larger food court area known as Sunset Ranch Market. The Disney Dining Plan is accepted here (counter-service credit) for lunch or dinner. In this post, we’ll review Catalina Eddie’s food, atmosphere, and value.

For years, Hollywood Studios was a dismal park to find a good meal in. All of the options, at least in the counter-service realm, were bland or just downright bad. The best options were chicken strips or a Carrot Cake Cookie. While the latter was delicious, apparently it’s not a healthy meal despite having carrot in the name.

Thankfully, things have changed. Toy Story Land brought better food at Woody’s Lunch Box and the same happened with Docking Bay 7 and Ronto Roasters at Galaxy’s Edge. ABC Commissary really upped their game and BaseLine Tap House added a different atmosphere and type of meal. All of a sudden, Hollywood Studios became a decent food park as long as you ignored the options on Sunset Boulevard. Unfortunately, Catalina Eddie’s is on Sunset Boulevard.

The restaurants inside of Sunset Ranch Market have been varying degrees of bad for as long as I can remember. While some might pick nits with that, citing mashed potato waffle bowls (yes, you read that correctly), nothing in the area tastes particularly fresh to me. That feels a little ironic given the ‘market’ theme. Melissa is generally open to trying things we need reviews for but she gets eerily quiet whenever I mention eating at one of these establishments. I can’t blame her! Usually I’m left trying one thing at a time at these spots, making reviews not all that feasible. When she agreed to dinner at Catalina Eddie’s, I jumped at the chance faster than anyone should when it comes to mediocre Italian food.

Part of the downside of these restaurants is the setting. Florida weather doesn’t always agree with open air seating and that’s all that’s offered throughout Sunset Ranch Market. This space is themed to the mid-1900’s California markets. There are awnings and umbrellas covering hoards of tables. Mixed in there are food stalls, including Catalina Eddie’s.

It’s not bad theme, as the area doesn’t feel out of place with the nearby shops and the looming Tower of Terror. The bigger problem is that this area just isn’t very nice. I like looking at the iconic tower as much as anyone but there are very few seats that actually give that view. Instead, most just feel like a large, crowded outdoor, but covered, food court. When the weather is cooperating, that’s okay. When it’s too hot or pouring rain, neither of which is uncommon in Orlando, then this feels less like a market and more like a herd of people.

For their part, the food stands do move through guests expeditiously. Guests can mobile order (always our preference) or order at Catalina Eddie’s. Waiting for your food doesn’t generally take long, but finding a seat can prove to be a little more difficult.

If you couldn’t tell, this isn’t my favorite atmosphere. I’ve knocked ABC Commissary many times for its nondescript, outdated decor but at least that place is inside! Eating at Sunset Ranch Market just isn’t a pleasant experience.

Moving to the food, here’s a link to the menu at Catalina Eddie’s. Pizza, pasta, a Meatball Sub, and a Caesar Salad make up the entrees on the menu. All of those end up between $11 and $14 (as of September 2026) which makes this one of the cheaper spots to eat in the park if you’re paying out of pocket. If you’re on the Disney Dining Plan, this is not a good counter-service value.

I’ve tried the pizza here and, well, it’s bad. The Pepperoni and Sausage option is the best of the bunch because it covers up the disappointing crust, sauce, and cheese on the pizzas. They are served in personal sizes and are all around $12. Counter-service pizza at Walt Disney World is generally not the best, but I do prefer the slices at value resorts over this option.

Speaking of those value resorts, Catalina Eddie’s serves a Meatball Sub just like those quick-service spots do. From what I can tell based on description and seeing them in person, they are more or less identical but I’ve only had the ones at the value resorts so I can’t say for sure. I love meatballs so I’m a bit biased here but it’s a passable entree. The taste is too heavy on the tomato but the meatballs are solid. I wouldn’t rush to get this but it will do in a pinch.

Here’s the Chicken Parmesan with Marinara Pasta. It’s served with a slice of Garlic Bread. Let’s start with the good – the dish is filling. There’s quite a bit of food here for being $13.29. The pasta itself is fine, cooked adequately. Same goes for the Garlic Bread because who doesn’t like a slice of even average Garlic Bread? I guess vampires don’t.

The average grades stop once we get to the chicken and marinara. The Chicken Parm really had that ‘cooked in mass quantities’ feel to it. If you’re really nostalgic for school lunch then that might be appealing! The marinara wasn’t necessarily bad but just tasted like tomato and not much else. I did not like this dish.

The Alfredo Basil Chicken Pasta was moderately better thanks solely to the sauce. The chicken here is exactly the same as the other pasta, meaning it’s dry and lacking seasoning, but the basil with the alfredo added a little bit of depth. If you’re set on getting a pasta and have no option to go elsewhere then this is okay. I still wouldn’t recommend it though.

We finished the meal off with a cannoli, which was undoubtedly the best part of the meal. We’ve had much better cannoli (I’m just learning that the plural of cannoli is cannoli!), as the pastry here was a little soggy and the dessert was clearly pre packaged. But the flavors were pretty good and there was still enough crunch here to give it texture.

Frankly, eating at Catalina Eddie’s just isn’t worth it. The food and atmosphere are both some of the worst in Hollywood Studios. A decent value doesn’t do enough to offset that. With so many better options throughout the park, we recommend going there and skipping Catalina Eddie’s entirely.
