Walt Disney Studios Park Attraction Rankings

Walt Disney Studios Park is the second gate at Disneyland Paris and widely regarded as the worst Disney theme park. Frankly, those assertions are correct. Nevertheless, there are some rides! In fact, there’s some decent attractions and a total number that is higher than Animal Kingdom and just 1 less than Hollywood Studios. In this post, we’ll rank all of the attractions at Walt Disney Studios Park. If you missed other attraction rankings that we’ve done, click here!

Just like Hollywood Studios a few years back, Walt Disney Studios Park is in transition. The name is even changing before long. There are seemingly more construction walls up than there are paths to walk on. The difference between experiencing that and then going to the roaming, beautiful castle park a few steps away is drastic. On the bright side, those construction walls signify that help is on the way! A Frozen and Lion King land are coming and will not only up the ride count but hopefully give the park some much needed beauty.

Until then, Walt Disney Studios Park is stuck at 11 rides. There are some interesting shows to enjoy but we’ll stay away from ranking those. Here are the rules that we follow:

  • No Meet & Greets. These are impossible to rank as each experience is unique. Also, I don’t particularly like them because I’m a guy in his 30’s.
  • No Live Shows. Nighttime shows are almost always better than rides, in my eyes. Also, big stage shows are impressive and don’t fit the profile of a typical ride. I will include 3D movies though. Basically you have to physically ride something or it has to be a show without live acting. Most playgrounds won’t be included unless they’re substantial pieces of the park.
  • These are all my opinion. Every attraction is someone’s favorite. While that is corny and seems a little silly, I think the sentiment is mostly true. I can’t account for other people’s memories in these rankings and will try (probably unsuccessfully) to take some of the nostalgia out of my views of these attractions. You’ll likely disagree with these rankings. Please let me know what you disagree with in the comments.

11 rides isn’t a terrible number for a secondary theme park in the midst of a makeover. It’s not good, but we’ve experienced worse attraction rosters. Unfortunately, a lot of the rides feel like filler. Don’t get me wrong, theme parks need those filler attractions to spread capacity around. But when the majority of rides feel that way then it’s a problem. WDSP could really use a few more headliners as well as some beautiful areas to explore. For now, we’ve at least got double digit attractions. Let’s get to the rankings!

11. Flying Carpets Over Agrabah

I’ve got nothing against Aladdin. Magic carpet rides should be a wonderful experience! Instead we always get stuck with these subpar spinners that are placed in a spot without much of a view and don’t look very good in the first place. On the bright side, this one doesn’t creak like the Magic Kingdom version of the ride. I’ll hold out hope for an inventive magic carpet attraction one day.

10. Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin

Much of Walt Disney Studios Park feels like a country fair that is slightly dressed up. This ride system is very recognizable from whatever local ride you went on with your crush at the age of 13. The change here is that Slinky Dog is at the head of the spinner, making it way more likely that your crush would have enjoyed the experience more. You know, because everyone likes looking at Slinky Dog while getting body slammed by the person next to them.

9. Cars Road Trip

Truthfully, this has a real stake at being last place. The previous 2 entries weren’t necessarily bad attractions but they are boring and unoriginal. Cars Road Trip is bad but it is original! Taking the place of the defunct Studio Tram Tour, this tram ride is basically there to get guests to Car-tastrophe Canyon where guests watch some special effects take place. Everything before and after that is a bad joke that the ride is only halfway in on. You’ve never been on anything like this, but that might be a good thing.

8. Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop

This attraction is in Toy Story Playland and is a classic drop ride, except it’s family friendly. I was surprised at how high in the air this went up, and it gives a good view of Disneyland Paris! The drop is slow enough to where kids likely won’t get too frightened. It’s another fair-esque ride but with a little more imagination and nice views.

7. Cars Quatre Roues Rallye

This Cars attraction is similar to Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree but not quite the same ride system. The ride does whip guests around and moves surprisingly fast, making it an easy, fun ride. On the downside, it looks pretty bad. Any of the bottom five could be in last place but each has a redeeming quality. I am interested in why they decided to name a few attractions in French.

6. RC Racer

The best attraction in Toy Story Playland is RC Racer. This steel shuttle coaster moves guests up and down a halfpipe track, themed to an RC Racer moving down a Hot Wheels-like track. Melissa and I were both surprised at how thrilling this was and how fast it moved. There’s also more thought put into the queue here. Due to the simplicity of the attraction I kept this about halfway on the list but I did think it was a good amount of fun.

5. Crush’s Coaster

The first part of Crush’s Coaster sets up for an exciting adventure. Guests board the family friendly coaster and it appears that you’re headed to a dark ride, roller coaster combo themed to Finding Nemo. The first minute has a character or two as well as a brief turn outside. Then the ride just turns into a wild mouse coaster in the dark. I was really surprised by that! The ride is fun enough but loses all theme after the first minute.

4. Spiderman W.E.B. Adventure

WEB Slingers, or in this case Spiderman W.E.B. Adventure, isn’t my favorite ride but I could be talked into placing it higher. There’s not really anything different from this attraction and the California Adventure version. I think it’s a fun ride but flawed.

3. Avengers Assemble: Flight Force

A rethemed Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is the park’s best thrill ride. There’s a cool Iron Man animatronic in the queue as well as a preshow that features Rocket from the Guardians. The setup for the ride is fine and the visuals on the attraction are decent. More than anything this is just an exciting and fast roller coaster!

2. Ratatouille : L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy

As I mentioned in the opening, the park has a ton of attractions that I’m lukewarm on. Anything in the 2-5 range could be placed in second or fifth, depending on your preference. This original version of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is better than the Epcot version in my opinion. With the upcoming refurbishment that will do away with 3D permanently and add more physical props, this ride could jump to the number 1 spot.

1. Tower of Terror

This attraction uses the same ride system as Tower of Terror when it existed at California Adventure. Maybe it’s the exact same ride and I didn’t remember it, maybe little girls being creepy is scarier in French or maybe this version has a few unique touches. Whatever the case, I’m nominating the little girl in this Tower of Terror as the creepiest Disney ride character. Even though I’m not a big fan of scary movies or rides, she’s fantastic and the whole attraction benefits from that. Also, this is just a great ride all the way around and the best looking building in a park that desperately needs more good looking things.

  1. Aye W list! I also think Tower of Terror is the best ride at Walt Disney Studios Park! I also love Crush’s Coaster, Avengers Assemble: Flight Force (both two of the best Disney coasters in the world) and Ratatouille is great. All excellent rides and some of the best Disney rides ever made. I’m hyped for more of the Disneyland Paris lists!

Are you going to be making the Disneyland Paris rides ranking list, the updated Disney Power Park Rankings, and your updated Ranking Every Disney Attraction I’ve Ever Been On lists? Lol I greatly enjoy reading your lists, they’re great. Lmk

    • Thanks Chris! Always appreciate your comments. I do plan on writing those posts, most likely in that order! Disneyland Paris Attraction Rankings should be out in the next 2 weeks and the Park Rankings won’t be far behind.
