Amorette’s Patisserie Review

Amorette’s Patisserie is a counter-service restaurant in Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs. Located in the Town Center section, the shop is known for their cakes and other sweet treats but also serves sandwiches. Both of those options are on the Disney Dining Plan as snack credits or counter-service meals. In this post, we’ll review Amorette’s Patisserie’s atmosphere, menu and value.

There are plenty of buzzworthy restaurants in Disney Springs. Gideon’s Bakehouse has lines throughout most of the day. Celebrity chefs like Morimoto and Guy Fieri, among others, offer their own places to dine. There’s niche bars and over-the-top themes, fine dining, Irish dancing and counter-service spots. Finding a place among all of it is Amorette’s Patisserie.

If you’ve heard of the bakery before it’s likely thanks to their expertly decorated and delicious Mousse Dome Cakes. Walking into Amorette’s Patisserie will give you a peek into the craft, as decorators work hard to make six different Disney characters (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Pluto) distinct on each dome. If a look at those cakes isn’t enough to make you drool then the case of other desserts next to it will. Eclairs, Fruit Tarts and more all look beautifully delicate and ready to devour. The seating area is nice enough (more on that in a minute) but the ambiance is really made just by walking in and seeing (and smelling) all that Amorette’s Patisserie has to offer.

Before we go further, I should say that cakes are far from my favorite dessert. I’ve started to like them more and more with age but growing up I preferred Rice Krispie Treats (shoutout to Snap, Crackle and Pop!) for my birthday. Since those elementary school days, I’ve developed a love for Crème Brûlée, Banana Pudding and plenty of cookies all above cake. Despite how wonderful the desserts look at Amorette’s Patisserie, I was skeptical of how much I’d enjoy them walking in. The first time we ordered one, we sped into the bakery during a downpour and then hid the mini cakes under our ponchos as we walked back to Saratoga Springs. They survived the walk, looking undeterred once we unboxed them.

Amorette's Patisserie Mickey cake Disney Springs (1 of 1)

This is the Mickey Mousse, consisting of Chocolate Chiffon Cake, Dark Chocolate Mousse, and White Chocolate Mousse. Despite my skepticism, it lived up to every bit of the hype. Not only is it adorable, but the Mousse was some of the best I’ve ever had. The cake was moist, even after we bought it at the end of the night, and it was rich in flavor without being overpowering. There’s this amazing scene in That 70’s Show where Donna (the neighbor girl) tells Eric (the neighbor boy) that she loves him. He’s caught off guard, gets nervous and blurts out “I love… Cake!” Rumor has it that he wasn’t crippled by fear of commitment but instead was daydreaming about the Mickey Mousse.

Amorette’s Patisserie serves these mini cake domes but also does full-sized cakes. The minis are on the Disney Dining Plan and are one of the best values for snacks. If anyone wants to get me a full-sized option though, I wouldn’t object!

Amorette's Patisserie Pistaccio Cheesecake Disney Springs (1 of 1)

Not to be outdone, Melissa ordered this Pistachio Cherry Cheesecake. From what I can tell, Amorette’s Patisserie does a seasonal cheesecake. This summer option was light and delicious. While I preferred my Mickey Mousse, she preferred the cheesecake. I don’t think you can really go wrong here when it comes to dessert.

Knowing how much we enjoyed dessert, we’ve returned for a meal at the bakery. The seating area isn’t huge but we didn’t have any trouble getting a table. Amorette’s Patisserie is located right next to the gigantic World of Disney store so it gets plenty of foot traffic, but I think the majority of guests get their options to go.

The restaurant is plenty nice enough to enjoy a meal at though. As I mentioned, guests can peer behind the counter to watch the chefs at work. There’s plenty of natural light through the windows and enough space to be comfortable. Like most counter-service spots at Disney Springs, this restaurant won’t blow you away with the atmosphere but it’s a fast-casual place to have a meal. It’s certainly not a deterrent but, outside of the cake decorating, there’s nothing that is overly intriguing about the seating area either.

If you decide to have an actual meal here instead of just gorging on desserts, then there are several sandwich options. Here’s a look at the menu. To be clear, gorging on desserts isn’t a bad choice and might even be our preference here. We were on the Disney Dining Plan during this stay and did use a counter-service credit on this meal. I wouldn’t say that’s the best use of the DDP, simply because there’s better value for a meal really close to here (Polite Pig) and then you can come over and use a snack credit for what the bakery is known for.

On the other hand, there were some fun drinks to partake in that were included in the Disney Dining Plan. I especially liked the Sparkling Red with the Minnie Mouse topper on the right! A super manly drink!

Amorette's Patisserie roast beef sandwich Disney Springs (1 of 1)

I had the Roast Beef Sandwich with Chips. On the sandwich was Roast Beef, Swiss Cheese, Dijonnaise, Pickled Red Onion, Heirloom Tomatoes, Cilantro Leaves, and Arugula. This is served cold but the ingredients tasted fresh. I enjoyed the sandwich and it fills a void in a somewhat sandwich-less Disney World. I definitely prefer this to Earl of Sandwich, as I thought the bread and Roast Beef were both delicious. That said, it’s nothing incredible. At $14, this is a fine value. The chips are your classic Disney World potato chips, so they’re decent.

Amorette's Patisserie turkey sandwich Disney Springs (1 of 1)

We also tried the Turkey and Brie Sandwich that included Oven-roasted Turkey, Brie, Black Pepper Bacon, Pommery Mustard, Baby Heirloom Tomato, Crispy Granny Smith Apple, Walnuts, Arugula, and Blood Orange Marmalade. This was the more interesting option, with a lighter and more refreshing taste. I’d order this over the Roast Beef sandwich but my opinion of both them are largely the same – they’re a good option but there’s better main courses throughout Disney World (or even just Disney Springs) counter-service restaurants. This was also $14.

With the meal here being pretty good but not great, we end up in the strange position of whole heartedly recommending Amorette’s Patisserie but maybe only for dessert. Sandwich lovers can unite and probably enjoy this. Dessert lovers can unite and have the time of their life here! The world can always use more good bakeries and Amorette’s Patisserie certainly qualifies for that!

Overall Rating – 8/10
