Questions of the Week

Question of the Week (10/8/18)

Every few weeks our writers get together and answer a Disney related question.  Here is this week’s Question of the Week!

QUESTION OF THE WEEK: If you could stay in one park alone for a night, what park would you choose and why?

Mackenzie – I would love to go to any park overnight. But I have always dreamed of being in Magic Kingdom by myself. This might be because of Boy Meets World when Cory and Sean sleep in the logs at Splash Mountain. Since then I’ve always wondered what it would be like to stay there all night. I would also love to roam free, maybe go back stage and explore the Cinderella suite in the castle. In this scenario I like to think all the workers are gone, but there is food out and if I can get on the ride I can ride it. Overall, wandering around Magic Kingdom would be very fun!

Andrew – I’m going to pick Animal Kingdom mainly because I think the night there could get pretty crazy. Hopping on a solo ride up Everest or on the back of a banshee (Flight of Passage) whenever I felt the urge would be nice. Taking out a safari truck and parking in the savanna portion of Kilimanjaro Safaris as the animals grazed through the night would be dangerous, interesting and well worth it. I’d also take the time to do things that I shouldn’t (as if driving on the Safaris doesn’t fit that) like climbing the Tree of Life at least a little ways or doing a one-man show of Festival of the Lion King.  I really enjoy Animal Kingdom’s lighting package as there’s a little bit of everything – vibrant, moody, darker.  Asia, Discovery Island and Pandora all have beautiful lights.  Mainly though, I just want to hang out with the animals all night.

Melissa – I think I’d go classic Disneyland for this one. When I’m alone there in the park, I’m thinking all the lights, songs, and rides are still going. No workers, but everything is on a continuous loop. This way I can still go on a ride when I want to. I’d say I’d like to try to stay up all night if this happened. Roaming from land to land going on each ride multiple times so you can see every detail. It would be fun to get to go see Walt’s apartment (maybe take a nap) and get to see other backstage areas. I’d also like to see everything lite up at night!

Fantasyland Night

Leslie – I think I’d like to pick California Adventure mostly because I have not been there in a number of years. Seeing photos of everything at night just makes me want to stay there. With Pixar Pier as well, there is plenty of fun for me to have. From speeding through Radiator Springs, or enjoying Midway Mania. Then there is World of Color which I have never gotten to see. The neon of Radiator Springs really comes alive at night so I think nighttime would be the best to see the park anyway and enjoy what it has to offer. I’d get to explore the Guardians of the Galaxy ride (but never ride it cause yeah no thanks…) and hike down Redwood Creek Challenge Trail (all while missing the Brother Bear theming). This would give me a wonderful opportunity for photos showcasing the park. Technically I could also stay in the Grand Californian since it’s connected to the park right?
