Every Sunday our writers get together and answer a Disney Parks related question. Here is this week’s question and answer. Leave your answer in the comments!
Question of the Week: We have a 2-part question in honor of Mother’s Day! What is your mom’s favorite attraction at the Disney Parks? What is one of your favorite memories with your mom at Disney Parks?
Leslie -My mother had a hard time picking…but she finally settled on Space Mountain.
As for memories I think one of my favorite memories with my mom was going to the Hoop De Doo Revue with her. Since I knew the show I just enjoyed seeing how my mom reacted to it (including her birthday shout out). From enjoying the music to swinging the napkin over our head it was a wonderful time.
Andrew – My mom went with the Matterhorn and said it barely beat out Expedition Everest. She said she likes it because it’s so old but still great.
One of my favorite memories at the Disney Parks with her is just this last Fall at Animal Kingdom. My sister and dad had just gone back to the room but Melissa, my mom, and I decided to stay in the park and wander around a little bit. It was a treat to be able to go through some of the hidden paths and slowly make our way to the exit, wandering through different animal exhibits and all of the plants that I know my mom loves to look at (she’s a florist). It wasn’t anything big but it was our way of doing the Disney Parks together. A simple memory, but not one that I will soon forget.
Kelsee – My moms favorite ride is Soarin’ over California. Like mother, like daughter!
I have so many Disney memories with my mom, but I’ll probably have to go with one of my most recent Disney memories with her when we went to Disneyland for Christmas in 2013. It was my daughter’s first visit to Disneyland and I loved seeing my mom and daughter interacting together at Disneyland. It brought back so many memories from when I was little and it brought me so much joy.
Melissa L. – My mom said her favorite is either Splash or Space Mountain.
I have many great memories I share with my mom at Disney parks, but the one that stands out to me is a night the two of us spent in Magic Kingdom by ourselves. We stayed out till the park closed at 2 A.M., jumping from ride to ride and meeting different characters. We watched the parades and fireworks and had the best night just hanging out while wandering through Disney.
Melissa H. – I think my mom would tell you it’s hard for her to pick a favorite ride, but a few of her top contenders would be Splash Mountain and Tower of Terror.
My favorite memory with my mother is really more of a “tradition” that happens when we are at Disney. Usually, on our last night my dad and brother are done after we hit all of our favorite rides one last time. However, my mom and I have a little more difficult time saying goodbye. Because of this, we usually stay until the park closes and soak up every, last minute of time together!
What are some of your favorite memories with your mom in Disney Parks? Let us know in the comments! A quick round-up of our week on the blog is after the jump.
