A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes: Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Review

Welcome Kelsee to the blog!  She’ll be posting here on Friday’s.  Learn more about our writers here.

There are three magical words that bring hope to every girl who dreams of being a princess: Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo. We all know the story, Cinderella wishes to go to the ball and POOF in pops her fairy godmother and she lives happily ever after. It’s a tale as old as time…. Oops wrong story.

In true Disney fashion, there is a place that you can take your child to make these dreams a reality, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. There are three locations for your royalty needs, one in Fantasyland in Disneyland, followed by the Magic Kingdom in Cinderella’s Castle at Disney World, and Disney Springs (formerly known as Downtown Disney) World Of Disney Store at Disney World. There is one stipulation however, princesses must be between the ages of 3-12 to be able to participate in this experience.

As you walk into the boutique, it’s as if you are walking into every Disney princesses’ closet. They have all your princess attire needs from Snow White to Queen Elsa available for purchase. However, you are more than welcome to purchase your little princesses outfit prior to the visit to the boutique ( a much cheaper option considering dresses alone start at 69.99).

Let’s not forget about the princes’ in our lives. There is also a Knight’s Package ($18.95 before tax) that includes hairstyling, a sword, and a royal shield for your knight in shining armor.

If you do not choose the Castle Package, there is an imaging package add-on which is a great investment that captures your priceless memories. For 32.95 (before tax) you receive one 6×8 and four 4×6 photos in a commemorative photo holder.
No matter how pretty of a penny this experience is, it truly is magical and completely worth it. Instead of having the Fairy Godmother there for every princess makeover, there are fairy godmothers in training that help out with the princess transformation. Each princess gets their own salon chair and own personal fairy godmother in training. At first they are allowed to pick out your hairstyle which is a selection between: Fairytale Princess, Disney Diva, Pop Princess, and Color Star.

Once the princess has all of her royal primping and prepping finished, there is a royal reveal in her own personal magic mirror. The curtains are drawn back and the smiles that are captured are irreplaceable. These little girls are truly having their dreams come true right before your eyes. It is not only a memory for them, but one you will both cherish for the rest of your lives.

Helpful tips:

1. Bring your own costume and accessories unless you are purchasing the Castle Package.
2. Bring a change of clothes for your child after they are done playing princess for the day. ( Trust me, they will be over wearing a ball gown in the Florida or California sun pretty quickly)
3. Purchase the imaging package add-on if it’s not apart of your package for everlasting memories.
4. Make sure to make your reservation at least 3 months before your trip.
5. If you are scheduling a Disney Dining experience, it is wise to coordinate the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique appointment right before your meal or within a reasonable time after your visit to the boutique. It would also be advised if your princess still takes a mid day snooze to schedule the event after their normal nap time. We wouldn’t want any bibbidi bobbidi breakdowns during their special day.
6. If your princess is wanting to be Anna or Elsa, definitely buy your costume ahead of time. As you may know, “Frozen Frenzy” has taken over and you will rarely see an Anna or Elsa costume on the shelf at any of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique locations or anywhere in the parks for that matter.
7. Cherish every bibbidi bobbidi beautiful moment of this experience. (even the one where your child is having a meltdown because she changed her mind from wanting to be Rapunzel to deciding she absolutely needs to be Queen Elsa… Trust me I’ve been there.)
