Since the opening of Fantasy Springs and the Fantasy Springs Hotel, Tokyo DisneySea has had an extra entrance and exit to the park that select guests can use. The resort has officially announced that they are easing exit restrictions at those gates, allowing all guests to use it instead of just those staying at Fantasy Springs Hotel and Toy Story Hotel. In this post, we’ll share the news and how it impacts guests.

As a little bit of background, Fantasy Springs was added to Tokyo DisneySea in 2024. Along with the new port-of-call opening, a new hotel was added that included an exclusive entrance and exit. That exit is in the very back of the park, a very long walk from the main entrance, and is close to the Bayside Station monorail stop. Along with Fantasy Springs Hotel and Toy Story Hotel, that stop has a few non-Disney hotels that are moderately priced and extremely nice to stay in.

Since opening the new land, only guests staying in the Fantasy Springs Hotel and Toy Story Hotel have been able to access the park’s second entrance and exit. Even Toy Story Hotel guests have restrictions, as they can’t use those gates to enter the park until after 10 AM. This does make staying at Fantasy Springs Hotel all the more enticing. the massive perk lets guests get to Fantasy Springs attractions before anyone else, so it’s easy to see why Tokyo Disney Resort has kept those entrance rules in place. The exit was a real benefit to the on-site hotels too.

The downside was that anyone staying near Bayside Station (and not in Fantasy Springs Hotel or Toy Story Hotel) had the very frustrating experience of walking the 20+ minutes from Fantasy Springs to the main park exit and then catching a monorail for another 15+ minutes over to that station. What could be walked to in less than 10 minutes from the Fantasy Springs exit ended up being a 45 minute excursion at all times of the day. We love spending as much time as possible in Tokyo DisneySea but this always felt excessive. The exit felt like it should be a perk for all guests, not just those staying at a Disney hotel.

It was easy to explain away the exit restrictions in the first few months of Fantasy Springs being open. They were trying to ease the crowds as the nights got later. Along with other rules they had in place, I’m not sure that was necessary but we don’t need to rehash that here. Waiting two and a half years to change this policy was puzzling. They relaxed the entrance/exit rules for Toy Story Hotel guests about a year ago and I don’t think it would have added much of a burden to make the exit open for all at that same time. Waiting makes the heart grow fonder? That’s not the phrase but seeing this exit now open for anyone is fantastic news despite the waiting.

Here are the official guidelines from Tokyo Disney Resort:

To exit the park, anyone may use the Fantasy Springs Gates throughout the day until 9:00 PM, regardless of whether they are staying in a hotel. If you wish to leave the park from the Fantasy Springs Gates, please make sure to be in Fantasy Springs before 9:00 PM.

I want to emphasize the 9 PM rule here. I’ve been turned away from using this exit by showing up to Fantasy Springs a couple of minutes after 9. If your feet just can’t take it anymore and you have to use this exit, give yourself a few extra minutes in order to be in that land before 9 PM.

For those curious, I haven’t been pushed out of Fantasy Springs right at 9, assuming I’m in the land ahead of that time. There’s usually a few minutes to take some photos of the area or just soak in the atmosphere. Tokyo Disney Resort does clear their parks faster than most other Disney theme parks, but I’ve generally been able to stay in Fantasy Springs somewhere between 9:15 and 9:30 while taking photos. For the rest of the park, the time is usually around 9:30 before security has gotten guests to the AquaSphere.

As for using these gates for a park entrance, it is still restricted to guests at Fantasy Springs Hotel and Toy Story Hotel. Here are the rules for each:

Guests staying at Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel

Hours: All day

Entry / Re-entry: Please present both of the following items at the entrance.

• Park ticket valid for admission to Tokyo DisneySea
• Proof of Stay at Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel (room key or reservation email)

Guests staying at Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel

Hours: After 10:00 AM (Exit from the park is available all day.)

Entry / Re-entry: Please present both of the following items at the entrance.

• Park ticket valid for admission to Tokyo DisneySea
• Proof of Stay at Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel

In time, we’d love to see this park entrance open for everyone starting at 10 AM. We’d even settle for noon! It stands to reason that Tokyo Disney Resort would allow that in the coming months or years. I suppose that keeping that perk to Toy Story Hotel would add some exclusivity to an “on-site” stay but, speaking for myself, I don’t think that moves the needle much.

Maybe there’d be too much of a rush of guests to enter if they opened the Fantasy Springs entrance to all at 10 AM but we already know how early TDR guests line up for the park. Having to wait an extra hour to get in would really set a day back. I can’t imagine many guests would opt for it. More likely, I’m guessing that they want to direct most guests to enter the park through the main entrance for monorail flow and security purposes.

For now, this move is a simple but needed win at Tokyo DisneySea. Our favorite theme park can be an incredibly difficult guest experience due to crowds, wait times, and logistics. Easing the end of the day for those staying near Bayside Station, or for those that just want to end their park day in Fantasy Springs, is a step in the right direction. It makes staying in those hotels an even better option than they already were, being able to spend a full day in DisneySea and then getting back to the hotel within 10 or 15 minutes of closing. While opening at the park is still difficult, closing just got easier!
