Wandering in Disney is happy to say that we are more than a website now! 2025 brought our first group trip to Japan and we loved how it turned out. Now we want to keep those trips going. Below are some details on what a group trip to Tokyo Disney Resort and Japan with us looks like, as well as information on what to do if you’re interested in this trip.
We know that traveling to a foreign country can be a difficult experience to try on your own. Standing in line to get into Tokyo Disneyland last June, we met a few groups of people that actually lived near us in California. After chatting for a bit, they had quite a few questions about the park’s logistics. We asked if they wanted to tag along and they happily joined us through most of the morning. It was fun! That morning helped inspire a group trip idea to Japan.
Following that, we took the first Wandering in Disney group trip to Japan in November of 2025. Melissa and I were joined by 8 other people to explore Tokyo Disney Resort, Tokyo and Kyoto. We’ve really enjoyed the process and are now looking into another group trip for 2027. Please fill out the form if you’re interested!

References
Here are several different references and reviews from our previous trip:
“If you’re traveling to Japan for the first time, it can be a somewhat daunting experience. Luckily, my wife and I were able to enjoy the sights, food, and hospitality of Tokyo and Kyoto thanks to Wandering in Disney.
It was nice to be able to turn the brain off and not worry about hotel and dinner reservations, train connections, or navigating on a whim. We were able to sightsee and soak in the culture and experience to the fullest without those pesky worries — and that’s the peace of mind that Wandering in Disney provided every day of our trip.
Knowing how to make the most out of our days in Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea can be a lot, but we were able to enjoy every ride and attraction thanks to Andrew and Melissa’s experience navigating the parks. Their guidance, insight and pleasant company made this the trip of a lifetime, and we’re so thankful to have been a part of it.”

“Our trip to Japan with Wandering in Disney was wonderful. The trip was well planned and executed very well. We spent three days in Tokyo, three days between Tokyo DisneySea and Disneyland, and then four days in Kyoto which provided us with time to see many of the historical and tourist sights in Japan. It was wonderful to have Andrew and Melissa leading us on our adventures. The hotel accommodations were very nice and always close to the rail lines, subways, and buses that got us around the cities. Having people that know how to navigate the transportation systems made the trip easy and enjoyable.
Andrew and Melissa’s planning and arranging of the trip was outstanding. They provided lodging, most meal reservations, transportation cards that made it easy to get off and on public transportation, and even handled the booking of our rides and meals at Disney. The group that we went with consisted of four couples, along with Andrew and Melissa, and everyone got along great. Andrew and Melissa spent time with everyone in the group and made everyone feel insurance comfortable. Overall the trip was a huge success. We saw so many historical sights and enjoyed the trip so much. If you’re considering a trip to Japan we would encourage you to consider going with a group led by Andrew and Melissa.”

“I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our trip to Japan with Wandering in Disney. They took care of everything down to the littlest detail. Great accommodations, great food and fun activities around Kyoto and Tokyo. Trying to do Tokyo Disneyland on our own would have been so difficult without Andrew’s expert knowledge. He took care of all the tickets, fast passes, shows, parades and restaurant reservations. Andrew even laid out a ride itinerary for each park to maximize our time and prioritize the rides that are different than what we have in the United States. It was so fun, we would totally go with them again.”

“Andrew and Melissa were amazing hosts for this incredible trip. We have talked about going to Japan for years, and we are so glad we were able to experience it in such a fun and low-stress way. And that is all thanks to the expert and tireless planning provided by the Longs.
We both love to travel, but as people who deal with anxiety, it was wonderful to go to another country and not experience the flare-ups that usually accompany a trip of this scale. We felt completely safe and didn’t have to worry about anything other than showing up on time and making sure we had our personal belongings.
In addition to handling all the trip details (for which they also went above and beyond!), Andrew and Melissa also met with all of us in advance to brief us on what to expect and how to navigate in another culture. They were so kind and inclusive with the group, making everyone feel connected, even though some of us were meeting for the first time.
If you’ve been wanting to see Japan and visit the Tokyo Disney resort, but it’s felt too overwhelming, we highly recommend joining a Wandering in Disney group trip. Getting to see all these things while guided by folks who have been there multiple times and love it was definitely the best way we could think of to visit Japan for the first time. We would absolutely join them for another trip!”

Future Trips
For upcoming trips we’d plan all of the itineraries (while including some free time or alternative options), book hotels, buy park, temple and attraction tickets and purchase transportation around the country. While I’d assist in finding plane tickets, everyone would be on their own for that purchase as well as food and other miscellaneous items. I should note that this isn’t an official tour group but rather a way for you to experience Japan with a group and with us, which we like to think is pretty fun! Essentially, we’d hope to take the stress and worry out of the equation for you.
The 2027 trip is in preliminary stages, with nothing official being announced on our end. We really appreciate those that have filled out the questionnaire already and look forward to more responses. For those who are more curious, please fill out the questionnaire that’s linked below and then we’ll be in contact via email in the following week. We promise not to spam you and you aren’t signing up for anything by leaving your email. We like to think this is a pretty unique offering and hope that you’ll consider coming along with us!
Fill out this questionnaire if you’re interested!
As always, if you have questions about this then please leave us a comment below! We look forward to hearing from you and appreciate you reading Wandering in Disney.
