Chef Gordon Ramsey has emerged from Hell’s Kitchen and Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride to put his name on a new spot coming to Downtown Disney. Earl of Sandwich and the celebrity chef and personality are teaming up to add a 1960’s gastropub to the restaurant, entertainment and shopping district. In this post, we’ll share the news of the upcoming eatery before adding our own thoughts. Let’s get to the details!

Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort continues to turn up the flavor and flair with another new hot spot on the way — Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby — an all-new British-themed gastropub in the works from the creators of Earl of Sandwich and the highly decorated, world-famous Chef Gordon Ramsay.
The pub will bring the Brit pop energy of the swinging ‘60s London, whilst a selection of Gordon Ramsay’s iconic and delicious British classic dishes delivers culinary star power.
‘60s British Themed Gastropub to be Located Atop Earl of Sandwich
Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby will be located atop the new Earl of Sandwich and is poised to be a great gathering spot for visitors and locals seeking an eclectic blend of British hospitality and elevated pub favorites.

Imagine stepping into a space inspired by London’s famed Carnaby Street during the height of the ‘60s cultural revolution: plush interiors, iconic British pop art and an irresistible soundtrack of “British Invasion” rock bands, all transporting patrons to a groovier, more glamorous time.
Soak in the sights from two stylish outdoor terraces, gather at the lively bar area, or tuck into signature booths, while savoring Gordon Ramsay’s renowned cuisine.
Classic British Dishes from Gordon Ramsay and Wide Selection of Beverages
The menu will pay homage to classic British fare, including Chef Ramsay’s legendary beef Wellington, crisp and tender fish and chips, and decadent sticky toffee pudding. To complement the flavorful cuisine, the restaurant will offer a wide-ranging list of wines and beers, as well as an imaginative selection of signature cocktails, each crafted to evoke the spirit of London’s most iconic pubs and lounges.
“All eyes were on London in the 1960s, a full on fantastic technicolour scene of people going out and having fun. We are bringing those cool vibes to Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby,” Chef Ramsay said. “Stunning interiors, incredible food and great music, whether it’s date night or dinner with friends or family, The Carnaby is going to bring the very best of cool Britannia to Downtown Disney District.”

Entertainment Inspired by the ‘60s
Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby will also come alive after dark with live music on select evenings. Keep the evening swinging with themed performances carrying the energy of the ‘60s, making it the perfect destination for both dinner and a night out.
Chef Ramsay’s new location adds to other notable chefs who have or will have a presence at Downtown Disney including Carlos Gaytán of Paseo, Céntrico and Tiendita, and Joe Isidori of the upcoming Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon, and Pearl’s Roadside BBQ.
Commentary
Another strong announcement for the makeover happening at Downtown Disney! I can’t say I care much about the shopping there but the restaurant overhaul has been phenomenal. Paseo, Centrico and Din Tai Fung have all offered better options than anything in the district beforehand. This appears to be a step in the right direction.
I’m also terrified to write any critique because my dreams tonight would be turned to nightmares featuring Chef Ramsey unleashing an impressive amount of expletives raining down on me. He would end the tirade with some form of “lions don’t concern themselves with the opinions of sheep”, minus a few bad words. He would be absolutely right in saying that so I think I’m safe in assuming Chef Gordon Ramsey won’t read the following paragraph. Just in case… Chef Ramsey, I really do enjoy most of your content and food and this mere sheep is only having fun.
With that out of the way, Gordon Ramsey at The Carnaby is a bad name. I understand the reasoning for naming it this but it’s a bad name. It sounds like the celebrity chef has taken up residency at a comedy club. I’m not looking forward to someone asking me where I’m going to eat tonight and I have to reply, “Gordon Ramsey.” Assuming that the friend doesn’t think I’ve turned into a celebrity eating zombie already, the follow up questions are endless and most of them end with me shrugging and going to eat a Shepherd’s Pie. So, not all bad! Also, not that many people are interested in my every night dinner plans.
I’ve got that out of my system and now can say that this should be another strong addition to Downtown Disney. Earl of Sandwich has a large fanbase and adding Gordon Ramsey’s name to the second floor will make this a popular spot. That’s a good thing, considering the location is on the far end of Downtown Disney, away from the parks.
A gastropub also fits into the current dining scene in that there aren’t many spots like it at Downtown Disney. The closest is Ballast Point but that is more Californian than British pub. The more variety the better! I’m happy to see that Downtown Disney continues to add and I think Gordon Ramsey at The Carnaby, questionable name aside, will be another asset at Disneyland Resort.
