Ranking the Treat Trails at Oogie Boogie Bash

Is there a purer form of Halloween than overfilling bags with candy and bantering with your favorite Disney villains? Maybe some would prefer getting (playfully, I hope) chased around by a clown with a chainsaw but I’ll take my chances with Syndrome from the Incredibles trying to recruit me to his causes while Cast Members on both sides of him share pounds of Twix bars. Thankfully, Oogie Boogie Bash offers that exact experience in the form of Treat Trails. In this post, we’ll rank all of the Treat Trails at the 2025 Oogie Boogie Bash!

There are many different components of Oogie Boogie Bash but Treat Trails are at the heart of the event. Other Halloween events offer character meet & greets or parades but enjoying all of the characters and candy that the trails offer is fairly unique. Some are quite detailed and elaborate while others just focus on a quick walk past the character.

I’m ranking the Treat Trails based on what our favorites are, which I realize isn’t the best criteria. I wouldn’t say that this is necessarily in the order you should prioritize them or experience them. The blurbs below each one will try to offer a little bit of strategy when needed. Along with that, the trails have fast moving lines so we recommend starting the night with actual meet & greets, not the most popular Treat Trail. Minnie, Daisy and Clarabelle dressed as the Sanderson Sisters is our character meet of preference!

Getting all of these trails done in one night is totally possible and you probably have time to double up on some. I wouldn’t say that this is a great use of your time or money but if you just want to get back in the same trail over and over again, you can! The amount of candy that you could acquire doing that is enough to make any doctor run away in horror. The magic of Halloween!

Below is our ranking of all 12 Treat Trails at the 2025 Oogie Boogie Bash. There are a few without characters. Unsurprisingly, they rank lowest for us. We recommend experiencing all of the character ones. Let’s get to it before the Headless Horseman attacks!

12. Radiator Springs Treat Trail

I love Cars Land and it’s especially fun at Halloween. That said, walking through the overflow of Radiator Springs Racers has never been high on my priority list. This was nice enough with lots of candy and a good spot to hit up before the first parade as there won’t be much wait to it.

11. Buena Vista Treat Trail

This spot near the entrance of the park doesn’t open until 9 PM. If you want easy access to candy, this is your best bet. Cast Members are just lined up Buena Vista Street with carts of candy. There’s no queue, no waiting, just walk up to them and get your candy! While I will never knock Skittles or Snickers, I’m not sure this added much to the event but it’s easy to enjoy while walking by.

10. World of Color Treat Trail

Our highest ranked non-character spot earns bonus points for having a photo stop nearby, being a convenient location and residing by the water. Stopping past here before enjoying the first parade showing is a good way to go. I wouldn’t call any of these first three essential but they take less than 5 minutes to experience if you’re in the area.

9. Yokai Treat Trail

Another spot to hit up early in the Oogie Boogie Bash night is this trail in San Fransokyo. I like Big Hero 6 but couldn’t have told you the villain’s name if you’d given me 100 guesses. My guess on 101 would have been Cruella so that would have been wrong too! That said, Yokai looks really cool and is an easy fit for the area. This spot doesn’t reach the immersion of others and also feels a little rushed walking through but is well worth doing! I do think this is probably the least popular of the character trails so do this one while other treat trails are still crowded, before the first parade.

8. Syndrome

The newest Treat Trail is a bit of a mixed bag for us, and not just a bag full of mixed candy. Syndrome interacting with guests was a ton of fun, he was great at both the banter and physical comedy. The setting is a little bit of a letdown and the popularity of the trail doesn’t make this as enjoyable as others. Save this one for right after (or during) the second parade, the line will be much lower at that point.

7. Agatha

Some of these are going to come down to personal preference and I can’t say that I care much about Marvel characters at this point. Residing in the Ancient Sanctum is a nice touch and a cool area to see at night. Agatha also had a couple of nice back-and-forths with passersby. There’s nothing that really stands out about the experience but we’re starting to get to some really good options now and that includes Agatha!

6. Dr. Doofenshmirtz

Like Agatha, I don’t have a strong connection to Phineas and Ferb but I was really amused by Dr. Doofenshmirtz. He’s one of two characters who has an indoor trail. That gets a little crowded at times but sets Doof up on the stage for easy viewing. The costuming is funny, as are the props. There’s a nice run of Treat Trails starting in Hollywood Land with Dr. Doofenshmirtz. I recommend doing them all in succession, finishing with Agatha in Avengers Campus. Do the Villains Grove after the first parade and then make your way over to this spot after.

5. Hades

Hades has emerged from the underworld and landed in the backlot stage area of Hollywood Land. Sometimes the jokes just write themselves! Moving on, Hades has great costuming and some zippy comebacks waiting for guests. There was also so much candy handed out here although I can’t speak to that happening every single night. In terms of when to visit, this would be 3rd in line of the Hollywood Land Treat Trails, after Doofenshmirtz and Oogie Boogie.

4. Judge Doom

Perhaps the most frightening of the Treat Trails featured Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. That’s not to say he was overly scary, more just gave people the creeps. I don’t know what it says about me that I was kind of into it. If you’re unfamiliar with the Roger Rabbit folklore then I think you’ll still enjoy this guy, as he’s a nice change of pace from other villains on the list. Do this one right after seeing Hades.

3. Maleficent

Speaking of giving me the creeps, Maleficent is always great at holding court and scaring me. Along with that, this trail had a great setup. Guests start by walking through the back path of Grizzly River Run, with fog and interesting lighting. The trail is so large that there’s no backup in getting in there and the space gives off an ominous tone while still being pretty! This one is easily done whenever but is probably most fun to see in the dark.

2. Oogie Boogie

The main man himself can’t quite pull off the first place victory but he does have an excellent trail. This is the other indoor option, housed in the Animation building. Oogie has a really great stage setup and they use all of the screens in that building exceptionally well. He’s also funny and sinister, in the most soulful way. We recommend hitting this spot up after Doofenshmirtz. At this point, I’m just trying to type Doofenshmirtz as much as possible in this post.

1. Ernesto de la Cruz

Ernesto de la Cruz was added to Oogie Boogie Bash a few years back and continues to impress. The costuming is unreal and the interaction almost plays as more of a show than it does meet & greet. I was wowed by this Treat Trail and believe that this is some of the best character work Disney has ever done in the parks. He meets off to the side of the Hyperion and should not be missed! We recommend taking Ernesto in after visiting Judge Doom.
