World of Frozen Opening Spring 2026 at Disney Adventure World in Paris

At Destination D23 this weekend, Disney announced that the new Frozen themed land will open at Disney Adventure World in Spring of 2026. Currently, the Disneyland Paris second gate is known as Walt Disney Studios Park but is set to change names with the massive park overhaul that includes World of Frozen. In this post, we’ll share the opening season details before adding in our own commentary. Here’s the news:

World of Frozen will open at Disneyland Paris in Spring 2026! The recent construction of Elsa’s Ice Palace brings another milestone in the development of this new themed area. This opening will also mark the official transformation of Walt Disney Studios Park into Disney Adventure World, where immersive worlds inspired by the most popular Disney stories are brought to life.

The video above is how Imagineering broke the news of World of Frozen’s opening season. It also showed off a fairly detailed look at certain parts of the new land. It looks like they are very far along at this point! Of course, that’s just looking at the facades and and outside of the area. I’m sure there is plenty of infrastructure work to be done as well as testing.

Once an actual date is given and not just a season, I think it’s fair to assume that some soft openings will take place ahead of that. With a smaller annual passholder pool, I think World of Frozen will be open to the general public for a month or two before the actual opening, possibly with limited hours. That is purely conjecture on my part but having a long testing period for this land makes sense.

Part of the reason for an extended testing period is because of the massive transformation happening at the Disneyland Paris second gate. Not only is it changing names, the park will look entirely different soon. And that’s a great thing!

When we were there in February, the park was being worked on so heavily that there was basically just one long street to explore. There was an offshoot or two to go down but most of the park consisted of walking down one road. It was ugly and incredibly underwhelming.

Since that time, World Premiere Plaza has come to life, bringing more depth to the front of the park. I can’t personally speak to the quality of this area as I haven’t experienced it but I will say that the photos look more interesting than elsewhere in Walt Disney Studios Park.

World of Frozen will add a back half to Disney Adventure World. Just as important as adding another quality attraction, the new land should add some beauty to a park that desperately needs it. Again, going back to our visit in February, we were dumbfounded by the lack of beauty or even anything visually interesting in the park. There was the Ratatouille area and… well, Tower of Terror looks cool!

As you can see in this map released earlier this year, World of Frozen will be at the back of a lagoon. We love lagoons! They are much better than a bland street! In a few years, the Lion King themed area will open and finish off the loop around that lagoon. It should make for the best part of Disney Adventure World.

This isn’t to say all of this will make Disney Adventure World a great park. Even with these additions, the park will almost surely still be the worst Disney theme park in the world. But it genuinely could be twice as good as it was and actually feel like a theme park now! That’s what we’re hoping for and the investment offers plenty of reason to be optimistic.
