Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort has undergone a multi year makeover that has brought many new tenants to the entertainment district. Paseo, Din Tai Fung, Centrico and others have led the way on the dining side while a number of Disney focused shops have debuted. The project isn’t over though and today brought more news of what’s next at Downtown Disney. In this post, we’ll share the news as well as add our brief commentary. Here’s what’s coming to Downtown Disney!
lululemon is Coming to Downtown Disney
Downtown Disney will welcome a new lululemon store that will feature innovative products within athletic apparel, footwear and accessories for yoga, running, training, and activities such as golf, tennis and more. This new location will offer guests their next favorite item such as bags, gloves, hats, scarves, water bottles, yoga blocks and mats. The shop will be located in an area of the former ESPN Zone building.

Nectar Life Bringing Handmade Bath and Body Products

Plans are underway for Nectar Life to join the district, bringing a luxurious collection of handcrafted bath products made with pure joy. Nectar Life’s beauty essentials and bakery-inspired bath treats are handmade using only the finest vegan, natural and plant-based ingredients. Beautifully designed and deliciously scented, popular items include moisturizing whipped soaps, body scrubs, exfoliating hand wash and gift sets.
This new Downtown Disney location will feature a custom blending bar to create a personal fragrance for tailor-made products like moisturizing shea body butters and fragrance roll-ons. Downtown Disney will also be Nectar Life’s first location with a customization bar where visitors can create their own milkshake bath soaks and nourishing whipped soap. At the shop’s Soap Mini Bar, guests of all ages can self-dispense their own blend of soap minis in a variety of shapes and scents!

You’ll have an opportunity to check out their products when a pop-up opens in the district this spring, prior to the store opening later this year near Avengers Reserve.
Bopo Go! Boba Drinks and More Coming to Downtown Disney
Bopo Go! is a new café concept being planned for Downtown Disney! Brought to life by Eric Wang and Philip Wang, co-owners of Bopomofo Café with several locations throughout Southern California, the new Bopo Go! will serve the same high-quality, authentic boba/bubble tea using only real fruits, vegetables, lactose-free milk, oat milk, cane or brown sugar and no artificial ingredients.

Their tea is sourced from farmers in Taiwan and their matcha is ceremonial grade sourced from Japan. Bopo Go! is inspired by convenience stores in Asia with other signature beverages, light bites, imported snacks and candies.
Sneak Peek: Inside Arthur & Sons and Pearl’s Roadside BBQ
Two new dining spots are in the works for Downtown Disney from Michelin-starred Chef Joe Isidori: Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon and Pearl’s Roadside BBQ. Here is a first look at design plans for the interior spaces!

Arthur & Sons steakhouse will serve premium cuts of beef, fresh seafood, sandwiches and salads, along with an impressive selection of bourbon and cocktails. Crisp lines mixed with rich wood tones add style to the interior, which will be comfortable and sophisticated featuring a prominent bar, an array of plush booths, warm table seating throughout and private dining.
Nearby, Pearl’s Roadside BBQ will be a quick service eatery blending the best of chef-driven, modern barbecue with traditional North Carolina cookouts. The menu will feature pulled pork, beef brisket and smoked heritage turkey with house-made sauces, along with craft beers and moonshine cocktails.

Inside the restaurant, a hand-painted mural will set the scene, while aromas of fragrant hickory and oak tease the palate. Fixtures and finishes will evoke the nostalgia of a vintage filling station renovated to become a vibrant and bustling BBQ joint. The spacious patio and Shine Bar will have views of the Downtown Disney promenade, creating a welcoming vibe for guests to make a pit stop to enjoy a hand-crafted cocktail or casual meal that is prepared low and slow.
Commentary
Believe it or not, I do not have expertise in the world of lululemon or bath and body products. Maybe I should have had Melissa write this post. You’re stuck with me and, as such, I’ll keep this commentary general and brief.
Downtown Disney has changed and evolved so much over the last few years that they’re running out of space for new shops and restaurants. Adding lululemon and Nectar Life means nothing to me personally, but it helps round out the shopping experience. I’m happy to see that lulu is going into the old ESPN building! It’s been so long since anything open to the public has been there. With this coming, I wonder what other shops will take up a spot in the big building.

The entertainment district is still missing great snack and drink options. Bopo Go! could hopefully fill in that gap. I’ve never had their tea but the addition makes sense within Sothern California’s bubble tea craze. I’m curious how big of a presence Bopo Go! will have.
Finally, I’m optimistic about the two new restaurants. Arthur & Sons looks especially nice, especially when compared to the space it’s taking over. No shade at Tortilla Jo’s but this looks like a polished step up. Likewise, adding a barbecue counter-service spot to Downtown Disney should be a strong addition and the concept art reminds me of Polite Pig in Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs. If Pearl’s Roadside BBQ is as successful as Polite Pig then this will be a smashing success.
