Have you ever wanted to get mocked by Yzma while getting pounds of candy dropped into your tote bag? We’ve all had that dream! While some prefer getting chased around by a chainsaw wielding clown, I prefer getting chilled to the bone by Maleficent’s evil stare right before a wonderful Cast Member hands me a Rice Krispy Treat. Oogie Boogie Bash, Disneyland Resort’s Halloween party, offers that experience in the form of treat trails! In this post, we’ll rank all of the treat trails at California Adventure’s 2026 edition of the Oogie Boogie Bash.
Treat trails are the engine of this Halloween party. There’s other entertainment, including the new and excellent Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake, and plenty of traditional character meet & greets but you can find those at other Halloween parties. Adding in mic’d up face characters who are waiting alongside copious amounts of candy is unique and makes Oogie Boogie Bash fun.
I’m ranking this year’s treat trails based on what our favorites are, which I realize isn’t the best criteria. We’ll have an itinerary for the party out in the next day or two but I will say that the top of our list also tends to be the most popular. Oogie Boogie Bash attendees have good taste, I guess! There’s not a huge amount of strategy that goes with the treat trails though as they have fast moving lines, especially after the first hour of the party. We recommend starting the night with an actual meet & greet, not the most popular Treat Trail. Minnie, Daisy and Clarabelle dressed as the Sanderson Sisters is our top pick!
Getting all of these trails done in one night is totally possible and you probably have time to double up on some. I wouldn’t say that this is a great use of your time or money but if you just want to get back in the same trail over and over again, you can! The amount of candy that you could acquire doing that is enough to make any doctor run away in horror. The magic of Halloween!
Below is our ranking of all 11 treat trails at the 2026 Oogie Boogie Bash. There are a few without characters. Unsurprisingly, they rank lowest for us. We recommend experiencing all of the character ones and the non-character ones never have much of a wait so they’re easy to do if you’re in the area. Let’s get to it!
11. Radiator Springs Treat Trail
This trail resides in the Radiator Springs Racers overflow and is more crowded than the other non-character options. Anytime spent in Cars Land is typically a good time and that’s made even better when someone is giving you a Snickers bar. Still, this is not really worth seeking out unless you’re already around this spot.
10. Buena Vista Treat Trail
This treat trail doesn’t open until 9 PM and essentially acts as one last way to get candy as you head out of the park. It’s not really a trail, it is literally just the park exit (and entrance). But it stays out of last place because it is void of people when you go earlier in the night or it’s a way to get one last bag of Sour Skittles (not a sponsor of this post) as you’re leaving the party. Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because you got a little more sugar while it was ending.
9. World of Color Treat Trail
This is the best of the non-character treat trails because it’s by a lot of action and has the prettiest views. Sandwiched between the Sanderson Sisters and Kingdom Hearts character meets, the trail winds down near the water so that guests get a great view of Pixar Pier. It also included meat sticks during night one, so that’s a plus!
8. Syndrome Treat Trail
I really want to like Syndrome’s treat trail more than I do. It’s the only trail in Pixar Pier and the character was added in 2025 so he’s still quite popular. And don’t get me wrong, all of the characters are really well done including Syndrome. He gets a lot of time for banter and is excellent at it! But the staging is a little underbaked here relative to other characters and the queueing isn’t pleasant.
7. Judge Doom Treat Trail
If you’re a Roger Rabbit fan then this is awesome! In the year 2026, big Roger Rabbit fans aren’t as plentiful as I’d like. Judge Doom has a very cool stage in Hollywood Land and doesn’t draw much of a line compared to the other characters. He’s also more intimidating and serious than the others, if that’s your thing. I should state that all of the characters are excellent so 7th place is nothing to sneeze at. Yes, I’m trying to protect myself against Judge Doom’s wrath.
6. Agatha’s Treat Trail
I’m not the biggest Marvel fan around but Agatha and her treat trail are admittedly cool. She resides inside of the Ancient Sanctum and, no, I don’t know what that is in relation to the movies. I do know that it has some very cool lamps! Along with that, Agatha is funny, flirty and mischievous enough for top 5 consideration. This might be a little higher for big Marvel fans!
5. Dr. Doofenshmirtz Treat Trail
Hollywood Land is home to some of the more cartoonish treat trail characters. Chief among them is Dr. Doofenshmirtz, super villain of the Phineas & Ferb franchise. His lair is inside of the Disney Jr. building and includes several on stage props along with a screen background. That all takes a backseat to the makeup transformation the Doof (I don’t know if anyone calls him this but they should) has. He’s very funny and puts on a great voice performance.
4. Hades Treat Trail
Hades has aura, as the kids say. At least I think that’s what they’re saying, please advise. The leader of the underworld meets on the Hollywood Backlot Stage and, for my money, has the best lines and banter of any villain. He may be evil but that guy is funny! Like the other characters, Hades looks phenomenal and gets a cool stage setup with a great backdrop, smoke and props.
3. Oogie Boogie Treat Trail
Putting the party’s titular character in 3rd place feels wrong but it’s no knock on the Oogie Boogie Man. His trail inside of the Animation Building is awesome. All of the screens in there are used to make the atmosphere more festive. Not to be outdone by the environment, Oogie Boogie looks amazing and commands the stage. Short of bats flying out of his mouth, I’m not sure how this treat trail could be much better.
2. Ernesto de la Cruz Treat Trail
Ernesto de la Cruz debuted at Oogie Boogie Bash a few years ago and is still a spectacular character. The costuming is the best of any villain you can meet at the party and the performance only makes things better! Ernesto mixes in some musicality to the act and is quite charming (and cunning) while doing it. This is a stunning character that will always be a highlight of the party.
1. Yzma (and Maleficent) Treat Trail
All of the other treat trails didn’t stand a chance because this one includes two iconic characters. Near the entrance to Grizzly River Run is where Yzma resides, ready to mix her potions. The party’s newest character looks great with her strong(?) cheek bones! My only complaint is that there wasn’t a Kronk sighting. After Yzma, guests walk on one of the best paths in all of California Adventure before stumbling upon Maleficent. Speaking of aura! She is intimidating and fierce, one of the best villains to cross paths with in the whole party. This is basically two treat trails in one, and that means nearly double the amount of candy! With all of that, how could this not be first place?
