Oogie Boogie Bash has become a Disneyland Resort staple, attracting both vacationers and locals. Last year was our first experience at the party and we really enjoyed it, packing the night full of activities but not feeling overly rushed in doing anything. You can read all about our experience here.

This after-hours party for all ages is the perfect opportunity to don an iconic costume, collect candy, and enjoy access to select attractions, often with shorter wait times. The event goes from 6 p.m. through 11 p.m. and admission includes entry to California Adventure three hours before the party officially begins, plus unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital photo downloads from the party.

While the party remains popular and well attended every year, the offerings have been stagnant for quite some time. A few characters are switched out every year but no big changes to entertainment have happened. That will change this year, out of necessity, since California Adventure can’t currently hold a parade due to the Coco attraction construction. Details on what’s replacing it are below, along with commentary on the change. Let’s start with the dates and ticket prices first though.

That adds up to 33 dates this year, 2 more than the previous record set in 2025. While I’m generally against hard ticket events taking over a park’s regular operation, I don’t mind 33 dates spread out across 2 and a half months. That’s especially true when the party is as popular as it is. Those August dates might not feel like Halloween but they’ll offer a less congested experience than the later dates. Disneyland Resort is happy with that compromise I’m sure, as it brings in more money!

Here’s some of what we can expect from Oogie Boogie Bash in 2026.

Haunted Mansion Portrait Float

New Street Party, Rare Characters, and Trick-or-Treating

“Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party” will bring familiar and iconic moments from the Haunted Mansion to the streets of California Adventure. The new street party will feature multiple show-stopping moments for Madame Leota to host her spirited séance and swinging wake filled with happy haunts, ghostly dancing, and ghoulish delight, inviting you to partake in a ghastly good time that beckons all 999 ghosts.

You may also choose to purchase the Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party for an enhanced viewing of the street party, which will feature a new selection of treats themed to Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. More details will become available and reservations will open later this summer.

Halloween Characters - Disneyland 2026

You may also encounter not-often-seen villains and Disney characters dressed up for Halloween throughout California Adventure. And you won’t want to miss trick-or-treating along immersive treat trails and a selection of themed bites available just for the party.

Characters at Oogie Boogie Bash 2026

Stroll through dreamlike scenes in Villains Grove, where Redwood Creek Challenge Trail will transform into an enchanted world inspired by Disney villains like the Queen of Hearts and Dr. Facilier.

At select times throughout the evening, Ichabod Crane hurries through California Adventure evading the sinister specter of the Headless Horseman astride his dark steed.

From thrilling rides and sweet treats to haunting decor and unique photo opportunities, there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy!

Villains Grove at California Adventure - Oogie Boogie Bash

The big change in that news is the Haunted Mansion Street Party taking the place of The Frightfully Fun Parade. Like we mentioned, losing the parade was inevitable while the Coco construction is ongoing. If the Street Party is well received, I expect it to be the new norm at Oogie Boogie Bash.

I’m not sure how to feel about that, as offerings akin to that usually just feel like dumbed down parades to me. But there’s no sense in judging it yet. I’m hopeful that the Street Party will have multiple show elements and will be one of the highlights of the night.

I’d love to see California Adventure pair something with it. An obvious addition they could make is by adding a Halloween themed World of Color. Seeing how that wasn’t included in the announcement, the chances of it seems slim. That all leaves me feeling a little skeptical about this year’s party, like they just trimmed down the parade and are going to roll with it. I hope that’s not the case!

Either way, Oogie Boogie Bash is enough fun to still be worth the price. We’re excited to get back there and enjoy the festivities, dressed in our Halloween best in August! As more details are released, we’ll share them on the site. For now, I recommend picking out what dates you’re going to the party and then buying them as soon as possible. Halloween will sell out very quickly, as will some of the weekends around it. Be ready, Oogie Boogie waits for no man.
