Hotel Indigo Anaheim is a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel that is roughly a 15 minute walk to the Disneyland Resort Theme Parks. Just off Harbor Boulevard, the hotel is a member of the IHG family and one of the trendier hotels near Disneyland, especially considering the price point. In this review, we’ll cover the rooms, amenities and location of the hotel, as well as our thoughts on the value that Hotel Indigo offers.

The Anaheim Resort Area has seen massive upgrades over the last decade with many hotels seeing refurbishments and upgrades. As a whole, the Good Neighbor Hotels around Disneyland Resort provide much better options than they did in the past. That said, there’s plenty of hotels, and specifically, hotel rooms that are run down and look very old. It probably goes without saying but those are the cheapest options. Hotel Indigo bridges the gap, offering nicer accommodations but still at a value price.

As far as location goes, Hotel Indigo is pretty average. As you can see, it’s about a 15 minute walk to Disneyland security. The hotel is just off Harbor, a few steps down Katella. The walk to the Disneyland Esplanade is very easy, only crossing one street. To make things even better, there’s a 7-11 on that crosswalk and you know Wandering in Disney is very pro 7-11. In fact, we’ve been thinking about making the switch from a Disney Theme Parks Blog to a 7-11 Blog. I digress.

The location of Hotel Indigo isn’t a reason to stay here but it isn’t enough to dissuade someone either. A 15 minute walk is pretty run-of-the-mill relative to the other Disneyland hotels we’ve stayed at. The hotel is a very easy drive from the freeway and is pretty close to the Anaheim Convention Center if you’re in the area for other reasons. Let’s move on to the rooms at Hotel Indigo.

The laminate floors here look nice and are a step above the usual (ugly) carpet we deal with in some of these Good Neighbor Hotels. The bedding and design of the room are also an upgrade although I’m not personally a fan of the pops of green. Why green? Just another color please! All of the accessories were up to date and well maintained.

Here’s a look from the other side. Hotel Indigo has murals throughout that celebrate the area’s farming industry. Honestly, the mural in the room didn’t do a lot for me but I admire the inspiration.

Here’s a look at the TV and desk. While I don’t love the actual choices on the accent walls, overall the room is sleek and certainly a step above some of the other hotels we’ve visited. The TV isn’t overly big here. I can’t say that’s of much concern to me during a Disney trip but different strokes for different folks.

Here’s a look inside the bathroom. It’s fairly large, mainly due to the sink being inside of the bathroom. That’s not really a plus but overall the rest of the bathroom kept up with the slick look.

The shower was very nice, staying away from the shower/tub combo.

I enjoy the room as a whole as it’s a nice combination of practical and modern. I could do without the green but outside of that I thought the design was nice.

The hotel offers a nice slate of amenities including the outdoor pool and hot tub. The area is a little bit cramped but is kept up well and a nice place to sit! It’s nothing to write home about but the area is, again, a little nicer than what most cheap hotels in the area offer.

Hotel Indigo also offers an on-site exercise room and a nice lobby and bar to sit and relax in. These amenities are closer to an upscale hotel than the inverse. Outside of a pool and hot tub, I don’t really care much about nice common places in Good Neighbor Hotels but it did make the hotel more inviting. Other amenities offered include free wifi and free parking, which is not insignificant relative to other hotels. There’s also no resort fee which is a definite plus!

As for the price range, Hotel Indigo can really vary depending on when you’re visiting Disneyland Resort. I’ve seen it as low as $100 and over $200 throughout the year. On average, I think the hotel tends to be around $150. It’s certainly a little bit more than the cheapest hotels in the area but is it worth it? My answer would be yes to a certain point. If you can find Hotel Indigo for under $150 a night then I’d recommend it. The rooms are up to date and nice, the amenities are definitely a step above the bare bones hotels and the location is decent. While I can’t quite put Hotel Indigo at the very top of our Disneyland Area Resort Rankings because there isn’t one factor that completely excels, it does make the top 3.
