Del Sol Inn Anaheim Resort is a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel that is just across the street from the Resort’s Esplanade. The hotel is budget friendly with an admirable location, right in the middle of the Disneyland action. In this review, we’ll cover the rooms, amenities and location of the hotel, as well as our thoughts on the value that Del Sol Inn offers.
For those that follow along with our Good Neighbor Hotel Reviews, I’ll probably sound like a broken record when bringing up location. It is the one characteristic that is comparable among all of these hotels. With so many different options, from chain hotels to locally owned, from chic to downright miserably designed, there seems to be a Good Neighbor Hotel in every category. With so many different factors, location is the one that matters most to me. Putting in long hours at Disneyland Resort is one of my favorite pastimes so a hotel that’s close by will score some points in my book.
Del Sol Inn soars relative to other Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels, being a short walk across the street from the Disneyland Esplanade. As you can see, it’s roughly a six minute walk to the security checkpoint. Among all of the Good Neighbor Hotels we’ve reviewed, Del Sol Inn is the second closest just behind Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites. The location is easily the best part of this hotel. Del Sol’s location would likely be the best factor of the hotel regardless of how nice the inside was but since the rest of it isn’t great then location is easily the best part! Walking back to Del Sol Inn is quicker than the ride to either Disneyland parking lots and to both the Disneyland Hotel and Paradise Pier Hotel.
Moving away from the location, let’s take a look at the room! I was in a room with a King sized bed and a couch.
The actual bed and headboard were pretty nice and modern. It’s weird to have the whole left side of the floor be open but just looking at the actual bedding furniture, I think it’s a decent look. The mattress wasn’t anything spectacular but it was comfortable relative to some other Good Neighbor Hotels I’ve slept in.
Honestly, the room layout was a little strange. The carpet is pretty terrible with the red and brown and it wasn’t the cleanest thing I’ve ever seen. The couch seems to be a little bit of a throw-in and also had a few stains. The desk seemed newer and matched the bed frame much more than the other pieces of furniture. Maybe the weirdest part of the room was how far the TV was away from the bed. I think I did have a corner room so the layout might have been unique to this room. That aside, I think the furniture is a mishmash and not exactly in vogue but it’s far from the ugliest room I’ve seen.
I did mention some stains and there were certainly a few of those around. It’s not that the room felt dirty really, it was more just an old room that needed some deep cleaning and it was in the back corner of the hotel. Some people felt safer than others back there. The cleanliness will bother some more than others but it’s something to be aware of.
The sink area is outside of the bathroom, which is always a plus. Notice the elephant towel folding! I don’t have much else to say about this area, it was all decent and got the job done.
And here’s a closer look at the bathroom. It was a little cramped but nothing too bad. Like the rest of the room, some features felt very old while others seemed recently updated.
All in all, the room was okay but is in need of a deep clean and refresh. Some of the furniture pieces had clearly been there a while and seen their share of guests come through. Del Sol Inn had the makings of a nice room but missed the mark.
As far as amenities go, Del Sol Inn offers a pool, complimentary breakfast and wifi. None of these things are anything to write home about. The pool is quite small but outside and secluded from non hotel guests. The breakfast is bare bones but will do in a pinch if you’re going to grab some food on the way to the park. None of these things are reasons to stay here, if anything they kind of hurt Del Sol Inn’s case compared to other hotels in the area.
Thankfully, the hotel sees its flaws and is priced accordingly. I’ve seen this hotel for under $100 a night, which is a steal given the location. The price does fluctuate a lot though depending on when you’re going to Disneyland Resort. I probably wouldn’t book this place for over $125/night, and even then I’d check out more popular options first. It’s not that there’s anything wrong with Del Sol Inn, really it’s just the epitome of a bare bones motel. But the price and location can more than make up for that, which puts the hotel in the middle of our Disneyland Hotel Rankings.

We’ve stayed at the Del Sol 4 or 5 times. We’re a family of 5, so the Family Rooms with two queens and a bunk bed are perfect for us. I’ve noticed that the layout of the rooms feels a little off too, and that some things in the room are very new while others are more worn. We do struggle a bit with finding adequate storage space in the room, and we usually end up with some of us just dressing out of our suitcases. I’ve always found the bathrooms to be scrupulously clean which is reassuring. Front desk staff have been accommodating with room requests, and they’ve let us park (for a fee) after we’ve checked out. They also kept our luggage both before check-in and after check-out.
