Question of the Week: What is your favorite soundtrack to an attraction?

Melissa H. – My favorite would have to be Soarin’ Over California. I get so many emotions just listening to the soundtrack. It is also amazing to me how there is just slight changes in the music as you “travel” from place to place, but each change in music gives you a feeling or emotion for that specific location. For example, in Coronado when you go over the carrier the music and atmosphere make it difficult to not feel a deep sense of patriotism. It is amazing. Close runner ups would be Pirates and Splash Mountain (specifically the instrumentals).

Grizzly Peak Airfield Soarin'

Melissa L. – I’m going to be really honest about this one…and some people may think I’m crazy for saying it, but oh well! I love the soundtrack of It’s A Small World! It’s so iconic to the Disney parks and is all about everyone in the world coming together. It’s a reminder that we aren’t the only country out there as I feel sometimes people forget. Plus it’s catchy and will stay stuck in your was for days!

Leslie – I share Melissa Hoyt’s love for Soarin’ the music really makes the ride and helps to bring the excitement. There has even been a few times it brings me to tears (no surprise there) my second choice would probably be Peter Pan’s Flight. I like how the music flows through each scene while still being different and it doesn’t overshadow the character voice overs.

Peter Pan Sign

Andrew – My choice would be Splash Mountain. The soundtrack is used as if the attraction was a musical. You immediately hear the overture which repeats throughout the ride. The darkened (minor) keys that happen before the Briar Patch followed by the big finale with everyone singing ‘Zippidy-Doo-Da’ are perfectly done. Plus, this is the one that gets stuck in my head all day… Or at least until I go on It’s a Small World.

Teacups daytime

Kelsey – I love the Mad Tea Party music. I get so happy when I hear it. I also thought of all of the previous choices too! So hard to pick! I just love all of them, I have the Disney parks soundtrack cd and play it throughout the year. It puts me in the best mood!

  1. Melissa – I don’t think you’re crazy for saying It’s a Small World, that song has some really good lyrics! I was on a Disney Cruise once and the waiters/cooks/chefs all came out and did a “parade” walk around to an upbeat version of It’s a Small World and I thought that was pretty awesome!
